Support for renewables, energy efficiency and energy autonomy

Close to nine in ten Europeans (88%) think it is important that the EU take action to increase renewable energy, and the same number (88%) believe that it is important for the EU to take action to improve energy efficiency, for example by encouraging people to insulate their home, install solar panels or buy electric cars. Three quarters (75%) believe that reducing fossil fuel imports will increase energy security and benefit the EU economically. 77% of Europeans agree that acting on climate change will foster innovation. More than eight in ten Europeans (84%) agree more support should be given to European companies to compete in the global market for clean technologies, demonstrating public backing for the Clean Industrial Deal.

There are countries in the EU that do not use the Euro. We can keep our loonies.

I’m advocating for the single transferable vote not first-past-the-post. The results show that with the alternative vote the big parties are much more overrepresented in the makeup of the seats in parliament meaning that they will be less likely to listen to you. We need to have the seat makeup match up with the percentage of the votes.

I mean poor Norway, Finland, Poland and The Baltics already have to deal with Russia.

I agree with your suggestions however ranked choice aka the alternative vote funnels everyone’s votes to the 2 big parties thus causing less political competition in our politics.

The winner-take-all ranked ballot system that was being pushed by Justin Trudeau can distort results even more than first past the post.

Some people claim that “a country cannot join if they’re outside the continent”

The European Union could help safeguard those borders.

Can you link the Australian one?

I mean if Cyprus and French Guiana can join so can Canada if we can meet the requirements. It’s a political alliance of values.
