I don't think Fediverse should be divided according to political compass. Just start a community on any instance and find your people. I don't think you will face any censorship if the discussion is kept civilized.

I have heard few supposedly right wing instances were defederated, but I don't agree it happened because of their agenda. The true reason was an overall 4-chan like chaos and hatread.

I've been wondering what Lemmy was like until Jun 2023. Quite cozy I guess.

The guy onse famously responded to the question of how the community can ensure that vim project succeeds for the forseeable future with "keep me alive". Seems like there is our fault :(

RIP the legend. Keep Vimming.

I wouldn't be surprized if a lot of participants of this protest are also Russians, considering Georgia is #1 destination for Russian political emmigration.

Sometimes it feels Lemmy community cares a bit too much about what happens on Reddit.

Let's be honest, it is unlikely Reddit is going to die or change policy. And who cares.

I'm just happy there is much better alternative and I'm not looking back.

I guess for most it is just a habit to use Apps to access everything from phone. Most in-browser UIs usually suck anyway (or at least they used to).

How forced an arbitration even legal. I don't get it.

I don't think google cares if you buy stuff or not. They are just selling ads.

But I agree with overall idea: if the ads become unavoidable, I'll just stop watching youtube.
