ReVanced can patch most of the popular apps with your own private (free to use) API key.

Step by step guide if you're interested

I'm sure Reddit is seeing private key usage sky rocketing on their end since ReVanced released these patches. Whether or not Reddit chooses to do anything about it remains to be seen, but I can't help but wonder how long it will last.

Nowadays I still stick with Lemmy for general scrolling and only go to Reddit for my niche subreddits that don't have active equivalents here.

I'm more concerned with the fact that they're not supporting the steam workshop and using their own mod platform

I've gotten 8 of these texts in the last 9 days. Every single one has a different URL. Out of curiosity I clicked on one of the links and chrome detected Chinese on the page but I couldn't see it anywhere.

On Android, former Relay for Reddit user.

Right now I have SEVEN lemmy apps on my home screen as I figure out which I like best. So far I keep going back to Sync the most.

Boost's animations suck. It takes too long to show the post list after swiping away an image and the whole screen goes black, it's a bit jarring.

Liftoff works well but it's ugly.

Jerboa isn't very customizable and the post list doesn't feel dense enough.

Voyager literally does not tell you what instance the community you're viewing is on.

I haven't touched Thunder in a while but I see they've updated quite a bit with a lot more customization. I remember older versions being nice, so I'll give it a try again.

Connect is about the same as Liftoff, works well but kinda ugly. Admittedly not as ugly though.

It's not a lunar eclipse, it's an annular solar eclipse.

Not as exciting as a regular solar eclipse. The moon is in a farther position of its orbit to not be able to fully cover the sun.

Most pawn shops deal primarily with guns, tools, and jewelry. You'll also find all kinds of electronics and collectibles, some places may have furniture too.

If the glaze on a ceramic plate has micro cracks on it, it can cause water to get inside the plate, which then gets hot in the microwave. Throw it away, it can grow bacteria.

The other day I launched an old game and got met with an error, something about directX9 and missing a redistributable file or something. Decided not to fuck with it.

Yesterday I launched it again to take a closer look at the error message to see if I could fix it. No error message, game booted without issues.

My confusion.

I just looked up ingredients for the top two brands of baby formula (Similac and Enfamil) and neither had HFCS.

You're full of shit.

I've used Relay for years, first tried it when it was still called Reddit News.

I'll admit that I've been browsing Reddit a bit with the official app and it's a garbage experience. Like, there's no /r/all? Wtf.

Anyway, it's just pushing me more onto Lemmy. It's slowly turning into a viable alternative as engagement grows.

The fediverse is a space built to escape these corporate profit machines. So you're ok with them invading that space?

Federating with Threads might help the fediverse grow, but Threads has the ability to become the largest instance within it. Then they'll be the ones to defederate from us. After that happens the fediverse will be worse off than if they never joined.

The fediverse is a threat to corporate run social media. Threads joining the fediverse is step one of their inside job to bring it down.
