Much appreciated! Looks extra spacious, perhaps because the seats are tiny, and the ceiling is particularly high and padded with these smooth tiles.

What a gorgeous bumblebee! Do you have any pictures of the interior?

The 885 also features shared rooms next to most doors, with standing space and high desks for calls and work, with spacious full-height vertical windows that allow for extra light and great views.

On routes where it switches direction at Kokura station (running between Hakata and Oita using Nippo Main Line and Kagoshima Line) there is a bit of a chaos moment when all passengers stand up to rotate the seats, and stuff they left in the compartments in the seats in front of them (like the mini-pocket) gets flipped to 2 seats behind them.

Trains of Kyushu (www.youtube.com)

I like the content in this community a lot and wanted to contribute some.

This is a video collection of all the trains I saw on my trip to Kyushu. Loved every single one of them! but my favorites were:

  • the tilting Sonic 883 with its large windows feels like flying a fighter plane!
  • the new Kamome, which is so lean & simple compared to other Shinkansen sets
  • the Kyushu Odan Tokkyu, not just because of the scenic route it takes round Aso, but also because of the wooden finish of so many sufraces, which feels sort of rustic, even though the cars' interiors are very spacious!

Use subtitles or timestamps in description for train & location names.

This pic is older than genAI tech. And it's not unheard of a veteran to lose both their legs.

This is incredibly accurate.

The combination of properties 1 and 3 makes it a pure function, which is also useful in compiled or jittable languages because it allows for a variety of optimizations.
