CENTER LINE, Mich. – A man tried to kill a spider at a gas station using a lighter causing a dangerous fire. Using a lighter to kill the bug, he started a blaze that quickly engulfed the gas pump.

He somehow escaped serious injury and the gas station’s damage was contained to one pump, which was destroyed. The incident was recorded at a Center Line gas station.

Employee Susan Adams kept calm and hit the gas automatic stop button and quickly called the Center Line fire department.

The man grabbed a nearby extinguisher and put out the flames before firefighters arrived. Later he admitted what he did, saying he spotted a spider on his gas tank and because he’s deathly afraid of the critters.

He pulled out his lighter and decided to burn it. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out what happened next.

Employees at the gas station have been having fun with the video ever since.

This charred fuel pump says it all. We are told his car was barely damaged from the flames. But his embarrassing mistake didn’t stop the man from coming back the next day as a customer.

“He was sorry,” Susan said. “He was sorry, he said he didn’t know. It is just one of those things that happen – stupidity.”

Adams said this serves as a reminder about being careful around gas pumps. Whether it is using a cell phone or static electricity, the smallest spark can cause a gas station fire.

The accident is expected to be covered by the station’s insurance.

As he calls for cognitive testing for Biden.

Hypocritical humor at its finest. Tired of old people telling everyone what's best for them. Sigh.... I implore you to exercise your voting powers and help get the idiots (on all sides) out of the US government.

Anyone else notice the name of the ranger's raven familiar? Made me smile.

So does that leave Gale as Krieger, Astarion as Ray, and Withers as Woodhouse?

So I was thinking of making an all druid party. Full moon, land, and spore druids, and perhaps a land/life cleric hybrid for a bit extra heals. I think this should cover all party role bases minus some niceties of certain spells or bonuses on certain skills. Every character would be able to shapeshift which could be neat.

Not sure if I will use the game NPCs for companions or just have hirelings to keep the dialogue neutral and less drama among characters. Would be my 5th campaign. I haven't finished my first campaign yet (about halfway done). I flip between my solo good, solo evil (Dark Urge), co-op good, and co-op evil. I just like messing around witt variety of characters, companions, and compositions.

Clearly, this would be for a fun, rp run. Just wanted to share my thoughts and was hoping to hear your thoughts.

I like to separate my bars into Action vs Bonus Action as well as separate spells based on their spell level so I can keep better track of what I have, what is left, what actions are available.

I also collect pouches and backpacks to place objects in. My first pouch is healing and helpful potions. My second pouch is throwables, dipping materials, and arrows (anything to harm someone in combat). My third pouch is for scrolls on the characters that carry/use scrolls. I also put my shovel and anything else I want to have on me but want to accidentally sell it within a pouch. I then place the pouches on my hotbar on the far right instead of the individual objects (except for shovel). So during combat I know if I need to take a potion, it's in the top bag, harmful items in the middle bag and scrolls in the bottom bag.

I have my bars extended to 3 vertical slots.

Re: skills and spells not falling off, I unfortunately do not have a solution.

I don't want to spoil this for anyone, however, something seems very very off to a point where I am doomed to fail in early Act 1. I created the Paladin, broke the oath, became an oathbreaker. Went off to the druid village, did the usual quests. Specifically - interacting with the musical tiefling who is writing a song.
Upon my first attempt for a full rest after that, something happens where I seemingly pretty much fucked over my game with my level 3 party. Other than avoiding that quest or avoiding being an oathbreaker at that point, my only option is reroll non-dark urge or go way back to a much earlier save. I do not believe having a dark urge oathbreaker paladin early on is doable.

Anyone else have this experience?

Trying to become a more "active" listener. My brain tends to want to immediately come up with a response without fully waiting to hear the whole conversation. Hence often, I speak before I think and/or before the person I was listening to was finished talking. I am trying to quiet my brain until the speaker finishes their commentary before I pause and work on a thoughtful reply as opposed to blurting out the first thing that comes to my mind.

As I have gotten older, the frequency of episodes have decreased. In my early 40's now. I would say it occurs at least once every 3-4 months as opposed to weekly in my teens.

I've been using a druid of the Moon. I like the versatility. Cast buff or debuff spells, roll into wildshape, smack stuff around, unshape, cast again. I love talking to animals and finding out things I may not have known. Too far to jump? No problem -> spider form. Want to scout ahead? No problem -> cat form. So many fun things to try out with the various forms. I have been out of town for a few days and have not gotten to play much but watched a video last night of all the druid wildshapes to come in higher levels and I am STOKED!!!

Meanwhile, my husband has been playing a bard, another versatile character and he seems to really be enjoying it.

What are you playing?

I am not a dad, nor of the male persuasion. Never had kids, nor do I want them. However, I love your jokes. Everyday when I scroll through my subscribed feed and come across the jokes in this community I want to /facepalm and laugh at the same time. They are so bad they are good. This community is secretly my favorite to come across in my feed (even moreso than the ones I mod and/or participate frequently in). Thank all of you for help making me smile every day.

Hello from your southern neighbor. I am a huge fan of Kids In the Hall, Corner Gas, Strange Brew, etc.. While these are older shows and movies I still have a great appreciation for Canadian humor in all entertainment mediums. I am surprised I haven't come across a community for discussing Canadian entertainment or something thereof. As I am not as versed as many on the subject I would be hesitant to create a community myself, but would enjoy having one to participate in and find new shows and whatnot. Just something to think about. Eh?

I really liked the guy in his initial Good Eats show. I loved how he broke cooking down into a science. Then I watched him as a guest judge on Chopped, host on Cutthroat Kitchen, and several other shows and realized what a jackass he is. Not sure if it's a TV personality or if it is how he actually is irl. Regardless, it has really turned me off from watching anything he does.

Yeah looks like lemmy.world is slow today. Not surprised due to the influx of users. Ruud and the team has been working on it diligently the last couple of weeks, expanding hardware, writing code, fixing bugs, etc. Please be patient as we grow!
