Thanks, I am in the same boat as you but I managed to get the basics down with Lemmy. Thanks for the support and welcome to our little corner. Hopefully we get more people posting.

Good news, I can solve the widget problem for you! Download: Lockscreen widgets and drawers, it costs 1.89, but it works really well! Just add a new widget through the app, then lock your phone and press on the widget with 2 fingers, then you can move it wherever you want. The app asks for alot of permissions but it is required for it to run. And I heard good things about the app!

Maybe a factory reset is what might help! Sometimes if you have been using your phone for a while that helps a lot!
