Yeah that's fairly textbook procrastination and then deadline stress - driven productivity, which is fairly common for ADHD people. Not enough to prove it on its own, but if you also identify with a lot of other things in this community it may be worth looking into

A few other examples off the top of my head that I have:

  • executive dysfunction (trouble starting tasks, even that you 'want' to do
  • often abandoning hobbies and personal projects for new, interesting ones
  • trouble staying focused on tasks that dont have that immediate deadline pressure
  • trouble forming habits
  • often fidgeting/stemming when not thinking about it

And reminder that even if you don't have stereotypical 'hyperactivity' symptoms you still might have a form of ADHD, for example I don't, for me it just manifests as often fidgeting, but not much beyond that.

So second good thing and somewhat of an inconvenience? Not bad tbh

The US joke is a bush

Yea its a meme of the format of the TikTok ban message, though there is also a sub-joke is the PID being how the US's political parties swing back and forth, which is in the part where TikTok referred to trump planning on revoking the ban, and that it just needs to wait for it to finish swinging back right.

Tbh one of the things that makes detecting sarcasm vs actually just defending him hard is that normally you can use prior knowledge of a persons opinions to help, but here I have no clue who you are and what your positions are and you might just be a random Nazi.

If you really don't like just having the /s there, one options is to include a spoiler and put the /s in there a few lines down.

Tbf there are a lot of people who love solving cryptic puzzles and getting info out of very little, thats why ARGs are a thing. The good thing is, you don't have to engage, you can just wait for proper announcements but for the people who love this shit they get to have fun, and presumably the devs too for making it.

And imo it shows that team cherry is interacting with the community in a positive way and might actually be finishing the game

Libraries are good, and a great community resource that should be treasured. However, no library can have the sheer volume of information available that YouTube and the Internet do. There is also the benefit of having more kinds of content, plus the ease of putting information out there.

For example, say I want to learn about the specifics of the defense economics of the war in Ukraine. Sure, I could wait 15 years for books to be published about it, hope my local library buys it, and then go and read it. Or I could log on to YouTube right now and go watch the latest Perun video on it which is also more entertaining. This also is an example of speed of new information being available on current events.

Both of these things have their strengths and weaknesses but it is simply a fact that YouTube has changed the availability of information to quite a high degree.

Etymologically yes, but I'm not so sure on a legal basis. I'd have to go and read the specific laws that would apply to them, and different countries have slightly different legal meanings of terrorism.

Always hyped for a new perun video

[–] astropenguin5@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Yea that would be nice, if I made more actual posts instead of lurking and commenting I would probably enable it

Yea that sounds right. It works quite well for most things, just specifically helldivers and/or it's anticheat absolutely hates it. On lowest settings I get like 30-40fps depending on how much I upscale with freezes every 10 seconds lasting .5-1 seconds. Simply unplayable, so I've gone back to using my 1080ti in my pc

I have a precision 3571 and it's pretty solid, I've been using it as my main gaming computer because it's better than my old PC, it does have a few drawbacks tho.
Pros:

  • dedicated Ethernet, HDMI, headphone, and 2 USB ports as well as a second USB-c port besides the charging one that can be converted to other things with a dongle - I usually run it with external keyboard, mouse and monitor
  • decent battery, can do a few hours of light gaming on just the battery or a full day of just browser

Cons:

  • fan intake doesn't have enough space when sitting on a flat surface and will overheat easily, so I have to elevate it with something to increase the gap of hang it over the side of my desk. This does solve most overheating problems though.
  • for some reason helldivers runs way worse than it has any right to, my theory is that their game engine just really doesn't work with the weird laptop GPU, an RTX A1000

Sometimes it will work after multiple presses, sometimes not at all. It may be a Lemmy or Lemmy.world problem, but if it's Voyager I'm on Android using firefox

As some may have noticed, a fairly large portion of the post on this community are article links posted by bots. I am no moderator and am just a regular user like the rest of you, but I want to know what the community thinks of the posting bots. here is a sample of my opinion to get conversation started:

Pros:

  • lots of content to engage with
  • people can focus on discussing things not finding thing

Cons:

  • lack of reliable quality of article
  • lack of diversity of content

There are rings in the game that give you buffs, often in sets. The Ring of Rock gives +13 armor, the Ring of Stone gives +14 mining damage, and the set bonus gives +49 mining damage. I had seen that there would be a pair earlier, but i finally got the set and acheivement yesterday.

I heard some stuff a while ago about there eventually being a non-ios theme for voyager, wefwef at the time. Is there an estimated timeline or plan on when that will be available, or perhaps some way for us users to help out with that?

I love almost every about voyager besides the theme. I know Apollo was intended to be ios but I see no reason voyager has to be the same

I am about to go to college for engineering and they require a Windows laptop because of the software we will be using (mostly solidworks I'm pretty sure) doesn't work on other operating systems. I primarily use windows day-to-day for gaming and such anyways so it's not a problem for me but I'm wondering if anyone had experience using solidworks or any other industry-class CAD software like Inventor on linux

a pretty fun sub-genre, just chiptune versions of power metal songs. heres a few others too:

Rainbowdragoneyes - Chipwecked (Alestorm's Shipwrecked remixed)

Twilight Force - Powerwind (Chip Version)

Currently I listen to almost all of my music through YouTube Music, but I want to actually buy some albums from some of my favorite bands (sabaton, gloryhammer, twilight force, etc.). What form do they usually come in, and how do y'all listen to and manage them on either desktop or mobile?
