Researchers at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, have discovered that T cells can be genetically modified to target and eliminate senescent cells, which contribute to aging and related diseases. Their findings in mice show that a single treatment with CAR T cells can lead to improved health outcomes, including reduced body weight and enhanced metabolism, with the potential for lifelong benefits.

Project to develop a blood-based test to identify patients with early pancreatic cancer receives PanKind funding boost.

The test is based on a critical WEHI discovery of proteins that can identify early pancreatic cancer in patients. Currently, there are no early-detection biomarkers for the disease.

Researchers hope the test could, in the future, be used by general practitioners and oncologists as a tool for early intervention to enable more effective treatment options for patients.

These results aren't enough to prove the GLP-1 RAs in particular were protecting against CRC – even though the different groups were matched up as well as possible – but they definitely suggest that more research and clinical trials are worth pursuing

While we're not suggesting the lidocaine could cure cancer, we're galvanized by the possibility that it could get an edge on head and neck cancer treatment and move the dial forward, in terms of improving treatment options for patients with this challenging form of cancer," said Ryan Carey, an assistant professor an co-lead author of the study.

Have you ever wondered why some people never became sick from COVID-19? The results indicate that individuals having this variant never feel sick once infected.

A history for all the posts we have read, and shortcuts to communities, search, or submit right by pressing Sync app icon for a second.

I was a Boost for Reddit, but got in love of Sync for Lemmy and these two features are the ones I need to make Sync more perfect than already is.

A mysterious woman's escape from her harrowing captivity points investigators toward the dark truth behind an unsolved disappearance 13 years earlier.

This is a German tv show for Netflix. If you don't mind subtitles, this is a must watch if you like the kidnapped for years genre. It's a slow paced show, but I just couldn't stop watching. Only 6 episodes.

this paper has some limitations. For one, it only reports on two of the 12 patients who received treatment earliest in the study. It also didn’t show any comparisons to other types of treatments with this type of patient and setting. That said, Kasi said the full results for all twelve patients should be available in the coming months and that his team is also planning future trials with more comprehensive analyses. However, he noted that these results were published because of how effective the drug seemed to be in these preliminary results. “It was not just the kill but how we analyzed the mechanisms of action of the kill,” he said.

Title is misleading. Why Rotten Tomatoes? The bribes went to critics not to the site which is just a critics aggregator.

WTF? I'm thinking of many different ways that this could be handled instead of killing a woman and her unborn baby. Geez!

This is one of the few things this mexican government has done right. I think this was copied from Chile, and should be copied in many countries including the U.S. F*ck those greedy obese factories.

A suspect - who fled the scene on foot - was killed by police when found nearby, allegedly still armed.

Police did their job.
