How have you started with meditation?
My opinion is that perhaps you shouldn't have mentioned that to him. While it's true that money can provide more opportunities, I believe it's more of a systemic issue rather than solely Jack's fault. Traveling can be a meaningful way to spend money compared to buying unnecessary things. Also, maybe Jack is aware of his luck and understands that others may not be as fortunate. From the way you described the conversation, he didn't seem to be acting superior to others. I know some wealthy people who actually feel the opposite, thinking they are worse off because they took an easier path in life. I understand your frustration, and it's valid to address it towards the system rather than directing it solely at one individual who may share similar opinions to yours from a different perspective.
I can recommend the fairphone
I no longer like that kind of music consumption model. I've noticed that I prefer to listen to the same album multiple times, and I think the "all-you-can-eat" model is detrimental to the artists. I prefer to support the artists directly, if possible, through services like Bandcamp. If I urgently need to listen to a specific song, I can use YouTube or tolerate the advertisements.
I listen to podcasts when I go to work or walk my dog. I use Overcast as an app, and I think it's great.
I work with music for a living, and I have to say that I do not listen to a lot of music, especially because I need an optimal listening setup to fully appreciate it. Currently, I use Spotify, but I think I will cancel my annual subscription when it expires.
When I need extreme security and privacy, I use qTox
I have the Hario Mill Mini-Slim +, which I bought a few months ago for 27€. It is a solid product that doesn't seem perfect, but it does its job well. Honestly, it seems like a "buy it for life" product that I might replace only because I want to get fancy and nerdy with the homogeneity of the grain size.
