Hey guys,

I only recently started my usenet journey. Looking to add a few more indexers to get better coverage. If you have a spare invite to a good indexer please let me know :)

I thought about this recently. I live in Australia. For the first 30 years of my life I didn’t look after my teeth properly.

Now I’ve got a really good oral hygiene routine with flossing, interdental brushes and a good quality mouthwash. I went through my routine one night last week and thought about how much better my gums were and how few problems I had with my oral health. I used to have frequent ulcers and permanent gingivitis.

As great as I felt knowing I’ve gotten on top of it, I feel terrible. I’m fortunate in that I can afford to spend 20 dollars a month on interdental brushes. Another 5 on floss. Another 10 on mouthwash. The $200 electric toothbrush that makes it easy to get a really solid clean.

Like what the fk man? Taking care of my teeth is not only going to have massive positive health impacts on me, but there would be huge cost savings for the government who only seem to intervene and pay up when it’s too late and you need hospital care for whatever eventuality comes.

A significant portion of the country skip meals in order to pay rent. They certainly don’t have that kind of money to spend to maintain there teeth, as well as any kids in the house.

Oral hygiene products should really be subsidised for low income families.

Here ya go. I spent 7 years in the military as a dog handler with two different malinois during that time.

I then got out and worked for a government agency investigating dog attacks.

One of the first jobs across my desk was… an American Bully XL. Almost killed another dog and sent a male person to the hospital. The dog was from an upper class family and was around little children daily.

We had 7 dogs that we had confiscated, pending court hearing regarding attacks.

7 out of 7 dogs were bully breed dogs.

In my experience I will not trust a bully breed dog in any circumstance. I’d take a malinois any day over a bully breed dog.

What’s a bet one of his employees is struggling to put food on the table for his kids.

This is one of those moments where a bit of humanity could have really improved someone’s life but instead this cunts ego got hurt over some chips

Imagine driving around, probably with a punisher logo somewhere on your uniform or gear, and then posting your big bust of… store brand groceries

Bingo. All of these technologies are controlled by ITAR.

I have zero doubt this was for clandestine use internationally and it was almost inevitable. Outside of a back-door there is no way you’re getting access to properly encrypted net with some of the higher end technologies.

This is what blows me away. If I did anything that could be linked to any kind of serious harm to someone, I would be fucking devastated.

It’s almost like these people are aliens when you look at their ability to just not give a single fuck about anyone

It’s kinda disgustingly satisfying when you pull gunk out. Then to think I never used to floss and that gunk used to just stay there…. 🤢

1113

Healthy gums don’t bleed, and are not painful to floss at all.

I’m in my 30s and only recently learned flossing technique and got my gums healthy. Flossing used to take so long and always involved a lot of bleeding no matter how delicate I was.

These days I’m absolute savage with floss and interdental brushes and never have any blood or pain.

Once you get your gums healthy you’ll be disgusted at yourself for ever not flossing. The amount of disgusting I can floss out on an almost daily basis is insane.

Plus you’re breath will not smell gross anymore.

It’s worth committing to the habit of flossing. Trust me.

They’re every inconvenience rolled in to one. A pain to get in. A pain to park. Use heaps of fuel. Don’t fit in garages, and to top it off are expensive AF. I’m confident in saying unless you tow like, horse floats on the regular, if you own one you’re a fucking idiot.

Yeh I’m in the same boat. The day the internal memo came out about how everything will blow over, I deleted Apollo. I haven’t been back to reddit since and after the first week, I don’t even miss it now.

I wish lemmy was a bit busier, but outside of that the general atmosphere and quality here is better. Even if everything was reversed and Spez was booted, I won’t return now.

In the medium term I’m confident costs could be met using patreon or something similar for large instances.

Plenty of people willingly paid for reddit awards etc. I think most of us feel more loyalty to Lemmy than reddit in the light of recent events.

This. I’m ex-military. Our ration packs came with these highly processed cans of cheese. I’d go 4-5 days without doing a shit.

Was never a good time after though
