That's American problem, I suppose. In the UK and even the 3rd world country like mine, we were paid at least 2 weeks off when working full-time.

Why do they have to spin the story?

Newspaper Title:

Do not travel to UK

The Exact Malaysia Travel advice:

Malaysians residing in or travelling to the United Kingdom are urged to stay away from protest areas, remain vigilant and follow the latest updates and guidance provided by local authorities.”

The real title: Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis draws mixture of boos and applause at Cannes

Are you desperate for readers with your clickbait title?

And don't forget the tragic ending suffered by the Dr (can't remember his name) that first brought out the covid issue, and his phone messages were leaked to the public if I am not mistaken. He was left dead with no proper care by the authority.

probably as a future deterrent, to avoid major conflict - that they are ~~booming~~ becoming more and more formidable opponent and should not be taken lightly.

to look at it objectively, if you don't use the service you're simply not part of the demographic targeted by the business employing ~~by~~ that service. That's mutual.

So if it is my livelihood, I should be able to manipulate people?

Yeah, that's typical of him. He went dormant for a long time during the first major version of Sync for Reddit, accumulating some quite critical bugs. But suddenly he came back with a new look of Reddit Sync, full of features, impressed me so much that I just let go of the past.

My hunch is, he would (try to) come out with the best app, and then move on to something (that we don't know) so that he can support his life. Sync for lemmy is not enough to economically gain the critical mass for him to do that fulltime. But once awhile, he'll be back to fix some critical bugs like what he did about a month ago for v0.19.

Yes he should do more and add more features. I myself only encounter non-critical bugs and don't use Sync for mod, so I am still be satisfied with its current condition. Others surely have different requirements.

there is another very recent clip from ITV news UK showing a guy being killed while their group of 5 holding a white flag to fetch relatives that were left behind. It was posted on Lemmy but I forgot where.

EDIT: I found the link here. It's sadder that the ITV reporter even Interviewed the victim before he was murdered. It starts at around 2:00. But it's worth to view the whole thing.

The process of getting house/room in many areas in the Netherlands is full of bureaucracy. We can't simply get a place and move there straight away. We need to register with the local councils and the requirements and regulations each local councils vary between places. Many times, it becomes catch-22 situation, e.g. you need to already have a job, but to get a job you need to register. That's why some people are desperate enough that they move to shitty places.

After a two and a half hours, the standoff came to an end when a bin was pulled up beside the carriage, giving the animal a platform on which to disembark.

The feline appeared unbothered as it alighted the train, according to station staff, who described it as “swaggering off” into the night as though it had other places to be.
