You’ll never believe how far this mother/daughter quarrel over a bagel goes!

This is Nova… (lemmy.world)

They were sole survivor of a traffic incident which killed their mom & siblings. Doing great a couple weeks later and growing fast!

Yeah, their response seems to basically boil down to ‘It’s doing great if you consider it’s ps5 exclusive’, which kinda misses the point. It’d probably have sold even better than 15 if it wasn’t. It’s just strange that they’d neuter their own potential for sales. I’d have bought it too, but I’m already losing interest, and there’s no sign of it coming to other platforms anytime soon.

The Star-spangled Banner (where the phrase “Land of the Free” comes from) was written in 1814, 51 years before slavery was abolished. The idea that America is or ever was the land of the free is a total joke.

It’s worth mentioning, while there are a lot of parallels to GTA, there are some important differences you should expect. For instance, there’s no ability to steal cars from others in this game. Rather you buy your own vehicles and drive those only. The game is more focused on the story and missions than the vehicle aspect.

Well, (and this isn't exactly an answer to your question), one thing that's interesting to consider is... if Spock killed Evil Kirk, he also killed Good Kirk. In other words he killed two people to save one (if you want to look at each of them as individuals in a sense equal to the original). Janeway "killed" one person to save two.

On my first watch-through and this episode was great, I love time anomaly episodes. Also really appreciated how, as the show comes to a close, this episode asks the question "Was the journey worth it? If they could go back and undo getting stranded in the DQ, would they?" And of course we discover through Chakotay's dialogue with Janeway that the journey has ultimately been worth it.

Anyway at the end, Janeway remarks that she knows where Chakotay hides the cider and cites the temporal prime directive. So does this imply she remembers the whole thing? If so that really kind of changes things for the whole show prior to this, for example she would have already known they were going to be stranded in the DQ from episode 1. So while I like the idea I'm having trouble reconciling it?

Have you watched Mr. Robot? That’s my favorite show and in the same vein of mind-bendy, twists & turns & cliffhangers. It can be a slow start since it takes almost the whole first season to reveal what kind of show it is, but well worth it.

Ok… but what about half life 3?

Just did a reading last night & curious what others would make of it. The background: I’m probably going to have to move in the next couple of months, and one option I’ve been considering is staying at my parents’ place for a while until I can save up to put a down payment on a house nearby (financially this would be great for me); my only hesitation is that sometimes there’s friction between myself and my parents after prolonged time together as our values differ a bit. I asked whether this was a good idea, or if I should explore other options.

My interpretation: this was a tough one and I’m unsure about it. Not encouraging that all three cards are reversed lol. The 8 of cups maybe speaks to my past living situations, I’ve moved around a lot and never stayed in one place long so maybe this is saying something about my tendency to walk away from things. The Q of Cups could mean that I’m not seeing my options clearly because of the emotional / social aspects? Not sure. It could also be my mom, who has been a little emotionally on edge (and admittedly a little hard to be around) lately, one reason being she’s stressed by her recent undertaking to install a pool in the yard. Which is kinda funny because it looks to me like this Queen is being dunked under water. The 4 of wands is what I’m really curious about. Normally I’d say it might mean a celebration, or the start of something new, but then again it’s reversed. I notice the tent on it looks kind of like a temporary shelter. So maybe it’s saying, whatever new start I make, ultimately it will only be temporary so I shouldn’t get too attached to it?

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!

I’m working through Star Trek, watched TNG and DS9 and on Voyager now. I’ve always been aware of it but somehow never realized how good it is! Which is nice because now I feel like I discovered a treasure trove, there are so many shows and movies.

This looks like the game I wanted Stellaris to be. Really psyched! Also it's pretty cool you can play as the Cardassians.

My dream Star Trek game is basically this as an overworld game plus away missions with XCOM style combat...

They're both piracy communities on separate lemmy instances. One is on lemmy.dbzer0.com, one is on lemmy.ml. As both those instances are linked, the communities can interact with each other freely. Hope that helps.

I’m enjoying it for the most part. One recent choice forced a A or B choice where I really thought some compromise or alternative should’ve been an option, and kinda dulled my enthusiasm a bit. But I do find the settings and immersiveness engaging, and there’s a definite Trek feel to many of the plot points and concepts. I’m really looking forward to the new strategy game btw!

Tarot

I've created a community for all things Tarot related - discussion, reading and interpretation requests, etc. I'm still getting used to the links and addresses on Lemmy so if this doesn't work for some reason let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Hello, welcome! I started this community because I noticed there wasn't one related to Tarot yet. Feel free to use this space to make requests for readings, or help with interpretations of your own readings for now. Or make a new post if you like. For now we can keep things pretty free-form and open, and as we get more activity we'll reassess.
