I think it's the same as any other platform. Right now the content in small communities is limited, but over time once there is a sizable amount of content that newcomers can get referred from or go through, Lemmy as a whole will get more traction. Since the Reddit exodus happened I definitely feel like Lemmy has grown a lot and I'm here for the long run.

I remember watching a Mythbusters or similar show that concluded that the time out of the milk after dipping is more important than the time in the milk. I've been doing that ever since, one dip than 5 seconds out then dip again and 5 seconds out again and it's perfect every time.

I swear more than once I put a thing resting on the door so I would have to take it when leaving but I somehow moved it and left without...

My doctor has ADHD! Pros: my ADHD diagnosis was super straightforward and he was overall helpful. Cons: forgets my appointments and talks too fast and overexplains or not at all. Still, I consider myself lucky

Just remove the key from their keyboard at this point or I think there is a way for windows to simply ignore it and keep it on all the time

Yea actually, that has a good "taste your own medecine" vibe

I'm assuming the increased data usage comes from fetching the content directly from the source where large images or videos might be allowed, whereas on Reddit this stuff was compressed and had limited sizes

As a user of a small TKL keyboard, I can say from my own experience having a small keyboard makes it easy and less strenuous to switch between the mouse and keyboard since they are so close together. I also find I don't really miss the extra keys, I can do my job just fine if not better without them, because of the added benefit of moving fast.

Oh cool, I'm too lazy to read but what would that mean in terms of resources? Is it going to take an insane amount of memory or just take a long time to process longer chains?

A solid way of searching communities, integrated with third party apps. Good autoplay and video controls for most video sources. A reliable way of hosting videos that would be anonymous and easy. What is bothering me the most right now is a bug, subscribing to communities in other instances requires pressing subscribe twice.
