@Eheran There's a metal bar right behind the back that notches in, so the pressure goes there. The tape is just stopping it from sliding downwards. Thanks for pointing that out though.

@cashews_best_nut @fujiwood If you do want a lighter like a zippo, make sure to get a butane insert, not the original zippo insert! The butane ones are easier to use and don't leak fuel.
Note that many of those new zippo inserts are made in China. Countycomm sells great "peanut lighters" which are small, circular (pill container style) and completely waterproof. They don't leak fuel either and are made in the USA.
Zippos are just such a great form factor for pocket carry
@edc btw, I realize this post might have a little advertising smell. but yeah obviously to be clear that's not the case. I just know it's a knife a lot of people appreciate, and would also be annoyed if people bought a Japanese knife made in China by companies that don't even have the right to use the name
@Chev I point out in my posts that a phone, pocket computer, camera, dopamine rectangle, surveillance device, whatever you want to call it, is (a less important) part of my EDC, and I use it to take the photo.
I do actually carry a thumb drive!
Sure, the cloud works, but to me it's way less clunky to use a thumb drive than upload files over email and download stuff, creating digital clutter. It's also USB-C+A so I can transfer large files from my pocket computer to backpack computer if needed.

@C4d @scytale It's nice when people actually know how to take care of a knife. It's WAY MORE IMPORTANT to know how to cook, shop, and plan meals, but there are two basic things you should know:
- Don't drag the blade along the fucking cutting board! Stop it. Use the back (spine) instead when pushing food off
- Swipe it along the honing rod at a 15-30 degree angle every now and then when you notice it feeling sluggish or dull - look it up if you're not sure
@fcSolar These are good additions to the existing constitution.
One thing I would like to add in terms of IP and Patent law is that you are free to reproduce Patented and otherwise protected physical items to any end, provided you make no profit in doing so.
This, coupled with 3D printing and future manufacturing tech, creates the foundation for a library/sharing/anarchic economy

@loudWaterEnjoyer @wren A lot of people have been asking about the skill toys and wren has already answered what they are for many times. I think wren's assuming that the person who said "all for a fidget toy" has already read the other messages and is just being disingenuous.
