Is anyone surprised?
Imho, it’s a bit like a water fountain. You wouldn’t ask before filling up your bottle. In both cases you as an individual are costing the business pennys.
The only place you mentioned that I personally wouldn’t do it is a store, but that’s mostly because to charge your phone you kinda have to sit by the outlet and I personally see stores as places of movement where hanging out is discouraged. You are supposed to buy something and leave.
But for doctors offices, you’re probably fine, and libraries you 100% all g.
IT ENDED ON A CLIFFHANGER!!!
Why must you torture me in this way
Im too tired to give a witty comeback.
DeSantis is a fascist bitch
“communities existsting in their own spaces”
In some sense that is what defederating does, no?
This is one of the many legal issues Reddit now has.
Reddit is very clearly eying an ipo, but who really wants to invest in this dumpster fire.
I’m not an investor but I l personally wouldn’t invest in a website as shortsighted as Reddit.
In an industry as cutthroat as social media having a site as active as Reddit, for 18 years. Should be celebrated.
In this world, where platforms live and die in the span of single years, why would Reddit throw away a formula that has worked for nearly 20 years.
I’m going to take a rather controversial stance on this. I don’t see this as such a bad Thing
First of all, running a discord server, especially a large one is not easy and discord mods deserve to be paid for their time just as much as anyone else.
While I will say that I’m not a huge fan of discord’s new focus on massive servers, it’s clear that that’s what brings in the big dough for them.
If this helps discord keep the lights on, and keep small servers running that’s good for me as much as it is good for them.
Also, I’d much rather this than ads ngl
It’s kinda ironic how literally all our communication from spez was through media, not reddit
It sucks but your best option is to just put telegram info in your bio afaik
E2E for federated messages would be great tho
Why, what benefits do you get from this?
