I have several addresses at cock.li. Uptime is not the best, around 98%, but free. According to their policy they don't collect any personal data, but they comply with legal requests. https://cock.li/help

You can select from a lot of domains, some of them ar normal like firemail.cc or airmail.cc, some of them are funny like aaathats3as.com, some of them are edgy like cocaine.ninja or national.shitposting.agency, some of them are racist like nuke.africa or hitler.rocks

That's the most common thing, happened to me multiple times. Even a very small amount of dust in the slot can cause issues like that.

Google maps uses gtfs, public transport companies publish that feeds. Osm does not store this data, only subsets were imported, mostly the physical stuff, stops, stations and sometimes lines.

For proper public transport routing you need a service where this feeds were imported or linked correctly, and they can combine it with osm data for alternatives.

I used this osm based app a long time ago, I don't know if it's still working: https://transportr.app/

Because they have different appid. Izzy version is app.organicmaps.web fdroid version is app.organicmaps (you can see this in the url). Google version uses the same appid as fdroid. You can't have two apps installed with the same appid, but this way you can have both installed at the same time.

I guess organic devs wanted separate appid for their 2 versions and fdroid just went with the default, original one.

So the 3 versions:

  • Web: built by organic devs, you can download this from github releases, scraped from there by izzy
  • Google: built by organic devs, you can download from github or from play store
  • Fdroid: built by fdroid build server, signed with fdroid devs' key.

It's bold of you to recommend a google product in !privacy@lemmy.ml

Why don't you just reflash the LOS image? You can get into bootloader, right? If you are there, just fastboot flash the LOS image: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/dubai/install/#flashing-additional-partitions

Than you should get to the LOS recovery, from there you can wipe? Or do you need authorization for fastboot as well like for adb?

Or is it a requirement that you need data from the phone?

The source on this is one guy from X (formerly Twitter), from Vietnam.

I mean, it sound plausible and expected, but it's not some official news.

In 1963, construction of the Valdecañas reservoir inundated the monument; and thus, it is only visible when water levels are low. Drought conditions in the last decade have exposed the monument in several summers.

Thank you global warming for helping us see this more and more...

It's not the browser but the websites.

Two way video streaming will be always resource intensive.

But for the other websites the choise is yours, you don't have to use amazon or goog, there are alternatives.

Also if you doesn't have enough ram close the tabs. My 10 years old low end laptop with 8GB ram, I know I can't have more than 6-8 tabs open at the same time.

Sir, this is Lemmy, the default os is Linux here.

I checked the post history of @whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works and I saw they commented once in linuxmemes, so I assumed it's about Linux. Also on Windows it's much more easier to change this, there is another dropdown literally next to the language selector.

You can set that up separately, override LC_TIME: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Locale It's Arch wiki but this is usually the same for any other distro

The header defines the language, but laws follow political borders, so it makes sense. E.g. which country's eula would you show for a German speaker Germany, Austria or Switzerland?

As per the linked FAQ,

What platforms will Sid Meier's Civilization VII be available on?

Sid Meier's Civilization VII will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam (which also supports Mac and Linux) and the Epic Games Store.

The Steam store (preorder) listing shows all three platform icons so I’m guessing they’re not just talking about making it work with Proton.

No mention yet of Aspyr (who ported Civ 5 & 6) as far as I can see.

The sea, which straddles the border between Israel and Jordan, has seen its surface area shrink by about 33 percent since the 1960s. A plan to replenish the Dead Sea with seawater from the Red Sea was proposed in 2009, but abandoned in 2021.
