One of the Chapter 1 originals in the multi-genre rhythm game vivid/stasis.

This time around, it's geared toward the end of Early Access at the tail-end of this month, as opposed to the last two, which were about Chapters 1 and 3, respectively.

Fools Rush In appears to be a fannish remake of the PC-98-only versus STG Touhou Yumeijikū ~ Phantasmagoria of Dim. Dream, for modern computer systems, released around 2017, though it's a bit jank on the gameplay side of things. Caught wind of it from a couple Jaimers vids on this a while back.

Akbayan Party-list first nominee Atty. Chel Diokno said he was shocked to find out that their group is leading the party-list race based on partial, unofficial results.

Diokno told ABS-CBN News on Tuesday they expected to garner a lot of votes, but not the number they initially have.

"Shookt na shookt kami. Di namin in-expect na ganito ang lalabas na resulta. We were hoping of course, for a lot of votes, but we never expected this number," he said.

When asked what contributed to this initial result, Diokno pointed to their campaign strategy, a chunk of which was through social media, which he believes 'leveled the playing field.'

"Tingin ko kombinasyon 'yan ng ground efforts namin at 'yung ginawa namin sa ere, lalong lalo na sa social media. Alam mo naman pag media, dehado ang mga grupo tulad ng Akbayan. Wala kaming resources. Pero pag dating sa socmed [social media], kaya naman. Kinaya talaga," he explained.

"Hindi kami tumigil na umikot mula pa last year. Talagang alam namin na uphill battle ito. Kaya we really did times 10 ang effort namin. Hindi lang sa social media, pati narin on the ground," he added.

Under Republic Act No. 7491, a group that gets at least 2 percent of total votes in the party-list race will get at least one seat in the House of Representatives. If a group garners another 2 percent, an additional seat will be given but is capped at a total of three seats.

Incumbent Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña is the second nominee, while the third nominee is Moro women and indigenous people's leader Dadah Kiram Ismula.

Diokno said they are ready to get to work once they enter the lower house.

"Ang dami naming gustong gawin pag dating sa ating kabataan, pag dating sa iba-ibang sektor. Ang magiging ng isyu nalang namin diyan, alin ang uunahin namin pagbukas ng Kongreso," he said.

"Our priority is really involved in gut issues that affecting our people today. Nandiyan ang issues ng sobrang pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin ang pagkain lalo na, nandoon ang issue sa corruption, nandiyan yung issue ng napakalaking krisis na edukasyon, pati sa healthcare," the lawyer added.

Diokno welcomed their entry to the lower house as a chance for progressive groups to be united.

"This is just a great opportunity for all the progressive blocs to get together and to really make themselves felt in Congress. Sa tingin ko, napaka-gandang pagkakataon ito. Excited na excited din kami to reach out to all the other groups," he said.

When asked about what position Akbayan will take in Congress, whether it will be opposition or will they collaborate with the administration, he said: "Tingin ko ang pinaka-effective na positi position ay yung issue position. Ibig sabihin nun, titingnan dapat ng grupo [Akbayan] yung bawat issue at ano ba dapat ang magiging paninindigan namin para sa taongbayan."

"Magkakaroon ng sitwasyon na maaaring pareho kami ng tingin sa administrasyon sa issue. For example, West Philippine Sea. We're happy with the way the administration is conducting itself,"

Diokno reiterated his position on reforming the party-list law and being against political dynasties.

"Ako mismo matagal ko nang sinasabi na kailangan ayusin ang party-list system.... Sana maayos natin ang party-list law to make sure siya ang magiging instrumento para may boses ang iba't-ibang sektor lalo na yung marginalized sa ating lipunan," he said.

"Maganda kung maipasok natin yan. Tatlo yung nakikita namin eh. It should be represent the sector. Connected doon, yung napiling nominee should represent the sector at pangatlo yung political dynasty," Diokno added.

As of 9:02 am of May 13 ,2025, Akbayan is at the top spot with 2,204,516 votes at 6.54%.

Noted to be primarily releasing on Steam next year, it seems a bit odd there's no gameplay previews yet, although, like vivid/stasis, it'll be more story-focused and have more songs at the start (exactly 70, 40 of which are originals).

Angelstar by lexycat, from her 2024 album "Dark Blossom", which in itself is far more sincere yet experimental enough for most mainstream tastes.

Having that song on the last-ever story update for vivid/stasis last weekend is quite the liberating, this-really-is-the-end-of-all rhythm gaming experience.

@NotLemming@lemm.ee Do you like reading, or even marvel at libraries and stuff? The last time I checked literature.cafe, the atmosphere (as well as the instance (I call it "online raft", for one) mods there) seems to be typical of a small town library. It also has comms for fanfics in general, and genre-specific ones.

I bet there's also even-smaller fedi-rafts out there that cater to a specific creative interest/hobby, or an entire fandom; time and effort will tell.

If it is indeed a gemstone holding a certain god's powers and memories... may it be so, unless?

Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia. Sort of a recent fangame title, by today's standards, but if you're looking for some cool mid-to-late-1990s-inspired PC dungeoneering action (Shin Megami Tensei being a heavy inspiration), it's currently at ninety-two percent off.

Touhou 8: Imperishable Night.

I earned my first-ever 1CC there three days ago, on the Easy difficulty (ignoring the perennial "easy modo" memes within the games' fandom), and slowly but surely, I'm learning both the fundamentals and the strategies towards passing various stages and spellcard patterns; hopefully, with enough practice, patience, and a bit of foresight, I can move up and do another 1CC on Mormal (both Finales), either with the Border or Netherworld team.

As for everything else, I found myself enthralled with the lore, story, and the music in this game, as if it were timeless, in a way. I'd say I like Eirin's boss theme the most, befitting for someone who's lived through time and knows everything diligently.

A longtime Wonderswan enthusiast, unusually for his usual game-related video repretoire, gives his first impressions upon vivid/statis, a free VSRG-ARG-visual novel hybrid released by Hajimeli back in 2023 (on Steam) for PC platforms

Always proud to be here, since the momentous mod and API protest days at the orangered site, but we still have work to be done, including fostering discussion and quality fannish content beyond the bounds of the Western part of our globe.

Oh yeah, we are indeed in a sort of calm-before-a-storm moment regarding the Internet itself, as if the proverbial storm, as Emperor pointed out, is now big tech companies and their corporate cohorts, against a cache of genuine humanity at hand.

On first glance, I almost double-mistook her holding pose as something similar to that of Kai'Lea from Welcome to the New Age (the intro animatic, specifically)...

Makes some sense, since both have the innate nature of water, to say the least.

Oh yeah, this was a worthy singin' bop from those fannish musicians, to say the least.

Still on Touhou 8 (Imperishable Night), and then, vivid/statis, of which its latest tournament quarterfinals tiebreaker just came out and I was far no less impressed with how I managed to almost teeter on gaining any Fails on the Middle Chart, just a few Goods, due to my laptop sometimes overloading on RAM while the application's running.

As for the former, I've been taking small steps on figuring out routes for Keine's second spell card attack on Normal Difficulty; on Easy, my new run-ender's on Reisen's second spell card attack, where shotgun bullets fade in and out whenever those blood red eyes periodically flash.
