I have an account on lemmy.sdf.org and I am subscribed to a magazine here on kbin.social (m/mma)

however, federation of posts and comments is extremely flaky or non-existent and I'm not sure if the issue is on the kbin side, the lemmy side, or both?

anyone have some insight into where this breakdown might be occurring?

for example, here are some screenshots of m/mma on kbin and lemmy

notice how most kbin content has not federated over to the lemmy side on lemmy.sdf.org

I also tried to comment on a kbin post from lemmy and as of 15 minutes later the comment has not appeared on the kbin thread

kbin sorted by 'new'
kbin

lemmy sorted by 'new' (notice how lemmy is missing most threads and also missing most comments from the Jamahal Hill thread)
lemmy

EDIT: I should mention that lemmy.sdf.org appears to be on 0.18.2 so they are pretty good at keeping it up-to-date

federation issues must be instance specific because I still can't see this post from my lemmy account

luckily I also had a kbin account

yeah that's what I'm noticing, pretty much everything is just the standard F1-F12

I did stumble upon a few sellers on Etsy who appear to sell Mac keycaps though so I may just have to dig around for some of the more obscure keys

Ordered a Keychron K2 which should be arriving next week, but I wasn't really feeling any of the keycap selections on their website

where do y'all buy keycaps?

I'd prefer to get some with MacOS style media keys, but not a deal-breaker

yeah I find myself being influenced by post or comment scores even though I don't want to be/know I shouldn't be

I wish I could look at a +20 comment and a -20 comment with the same objectivity

and as you said it creates score chasers, which I think is kind of an addiction. like they gotta get/keep the high score on a game leaderboard which just leads to the types of posts or comments that are 'most efficient' in gaining said scores

I'm not asking for votes to be disabled, just an option to hide the numbers when viewing posts/comments/etc on my own screen.

I've been using this option on Lemmy and I like it a lot

I think it helps prevent preconceived notions if I don't see a score (up or down) before I even get a chance to read the content

opt-in of course, so only those who want to hide scores can enable the feature
