If you have a fully open source product (with a permissive license) you can't just "paywall" it, as FOSS licenses allow you to build and often redistribute the product.
When you have a fully open source product and want to build a valid business model from it, you have to work WITH your license. The OsmAnd team chose an interesting way to do this by "paywalling" the Playstore version "OsmAnd+". But you still can get all the stuff, as it is open source.
A community-compiled version of the full OsmAnd+ named OsmAnd~ without Google Play services dependency is also freely available on F-Droid.

Welcome to the world of FOSS. 🌍
"It doesn't work for me." Your argument is also just an anecdote.
Personally, I love OsmAnd because of the power features. In the best sense "it works for me". However, I would recommend OM to not-so-nerdy friends and family as it is just simpler to use and understand due to the fewer features.
I don't think this is true in that sense. You can get the full experience for free by - either building it your self - or simply on FDroid. If you still use Gruesome Playstore, then yes, it is "soft paywalled".
Or do you mean other features that are not even in the FDroid build? (Which could be some proprietary features.)
Short answer? No and no.
Well I wasn't expecting to find THE right answer in the comments already. Kudos!
And to everyone reading through this post: If you have questions, need more explanations or want to learn more about the options that we have to "stabilize" a renewable energy system and make it long term viable, just ask!
I'd say that this a weird way to put it. We just have too few other sustainable plants - mainly wind - in our mix.
It will most likely come back due to EU legislation.
Looks really delish!
But as a short PSA: If you really have high cholesterol, this dish might not be the optimal as the vegan butter and sour cream are high in fat - especially saturated fats. This might bring your cholesterol levels up.
https://www.heartuk.org.uk/low-cholesterol-foods/saturated-fat
If you really need to keep an eye on your cholesterol levels, try not to overdo it with fats in your diet and minimize saturated fats - which are often found in "solid fats" like coconut or palm oil (or any fat derived from an animal source).
You could adapt the recipe quite easily by using a small amount of olive oil to saute the onions & mushrooms. Or you could even go zero-fat by "water sautéing" your ingredients.
The sour cream can be swapped with a "cashew-soymilk-sauce" quite easily. Still has some fat but more on the healty side. And cashews bring a lot of other health nutrients - in contrast to the sour creams.
A bisschen Senf
I read about this quite some time ago. Seems like they found out, that this doesn't really make a difference in reading speed or comprehension. "Byonic reading" is basically just homeopathy for formating texts.
Posts like the one in the picture works for various other reasons - just not because of formatting. They are advertisements, as "bionic reading" is a proprietary solution.
Sorry to be the party pooper.
Kanns aus erster Hand bestätigen. Ist nicht sonderlich nice.
