You are misunderstanding the problem. John Oliver, like Veritasium in the post's video, is talking about the health risks of PFOS like C8 and GenX which are PFAS used in the production of other PFAS like Teflon. PFOS are able to enter the bloodstream and have proven carcinogenic effects. However, although PFOS are used in the production of Teflon, they are not found on a non-stick pan. Teflon molecules are too big and too inert to enter the bloodstream and will simply pass through the body when ingested. So scratching a non-stick pan and eating the flakes wouldn't really do anything, I don't think I'd have to prove that by doing it.

From the post:

Teflon (or generally big Fluoropolymers) are not the problem. Ingesting them does nothing to you, because as long, chemically inert polymers they just pass through you from one end to the other

PETA has accomplished a lot for animal rights, and I believe that a few controversies shouldn't overshadow their positive contributions.

A nice day for a hike to around the craters and to the top. Snow shoes required!

Looking out over (from left to right) Bifröst (town), Hreðavatn (lake), Grábrókarfell (crater), Hraunsnefsöxl (mountain peak). The mountain range in the background has been seeing increased seismic activity over the last couple of months.

The search has been going full time for a man who fell into a crevasse in Grindavík Wednesday morning. A drone was sent into the water in the fissure to investigate the situation.

The search conditions are very challenging. Work has been done to widen the opening of the crevasse, which was very narrow. This has so far meant that it has only been possible to bring two people down into the crack to search each time
