Something is wrong with the Windows scheduler and these new chips. The Linux results aren't revolutionary, but they're about what you'd expect from what AMD marketed in terms of IPC uplift.

More reviewers should benchmark hardware on multiple operating systems.

Not FOSS, but a library/archive: https://annas-archive.org/torrents

Popular Linux ISOs are usually mirrored across a lot of mirrors (duh), so availability is already very good.

They should stop adding more and more services and instead focus on making existing services better or - in some cases - feature complete first.

But consider that anything not honoring your time and attention is disrespecting you.

This is why I use ad blockers, switched to Linux and why I'm always quick to delete apps that continuously nag me to do something.

I just use uBlock Origin (without any additional scripts) and whenever it stops working I update the filter lists manually (it updates them automatically every now and then).

If they'd make this the default a lot of leas tech-savvy people would regularly lose their data because regular account recovery mechanisms don't work with E2EE enabled. The vast majority of people don't even use password managers and yes, people forget their passwords and yes, the same thing happens with a 28-digit recovery phrase. No, many won't remember where they put it when they wrote it down. Many won't even understand what this phrase means, even when the setup process directly explains it to them.

But we can obviously also be all negative about why this isn't enabled by default and make assumptions.

It's still so weird to me that Microsoft - who has their own, now modern, native UI framework for Windows - barely uses it in any of their own applications, instead more and more relying on ~Electron~ Edge WebView2, barely following their own design language. Do they even want people to use Windows?

Someone wrote their own date library.

Compared to the blockchain type train, I thought this whole AI thing was quite cool and actually useful, but it feels more and more similar to the blockchain hype, where companies tried to solve every problem with some form of blockchain (for example in-game items).

The same is kind of happening with AI now.

They want to sell their Premium subscription. They want you to compare 5 seconds of nothing versus "0" seconds of nothing. That being said, I think uBlock Origin with up-to-date filter lists completely eliminated this delay for me.

It's not like Pegasus is exploiting a single bug in iOS, there are probably hundreds of different ways Pegasus got onto phones over the years. Known security bugs get patched.

Pegasus isn't a single piece of software, it's a big toolkit, constantly updated. It's a race similar to ads vs. ad blockers.

It's not a problem exclusive to iOS either. Pegasus works on Android phones as well.

And Linus/LTT will have excuses over excuses instead of sincerely apologizing and actually trying to get better.

Doesn't matter for me, I've stopped watching them years ago. Their extremely clickbait titles make it hard to search for anything anyways.
