Remember the days when we had the notification led? :(

I haven't looked at it in detail, but the Matrix comparison is likely just a relatable catch phrase to get the average Joe pick up the book.

Just my two cents, but I think it's okay to suggest both. Everyone is capable of doing their own research and deciding for themselves what they like and don't like. I've never heard of SearXNG, but it looks really cool. May spin one up for myself.

It's not luck. You probably went with Halsin over Minthara. :)

I concur. It seems like Google is trying to force personalization. It's also not good that they are hiding the default recommendations because it becomes harder to see what is being censored.

Until they patch this loophole by forcing yearly subscriptions.

It's great. Excited for Final Fantasy 16. Gonna be a long week, especially since I didn't get the day off today.

It's a corporate us vs them mentality. I don't think Steve would even ask his own employees for help - the people who are on the ground running the company. The internal memo strongly indicates that Reddit doesn't have a two-way communication channel with leadership.

It was done because the head mod (who barely contributed anything) showed up out of the blue and decided to enroll the sub into the protest. The rest of the mod team was not in agreement with it.

Cannot be done for lawyercat reasons.

I can't say for sure, but I suspect they are trying to push nsfw in-house for the sake of monetizing it. Nsfw drives quite a bit of traffic and with the falling out of Imgur, Reddit has become the sole host for such content. They just can't say that publicly because Reddit has a bit of problem with non-consensual material.
