Sometimes it feels like certain parts of humanity just didn't really learn all the lessons that they should have from the Holocaust about dehumanizing people.

Article details how reporter -- pre-armed with relevant facts and cameras -- confronts neoNazis in Tennessee. | Excerpts:

Members of the Goyim Defense League harassed people in the heart of Nashville's entertainment district, berating a lesbian mom who had just left a restaurant.

Later, the neo-Nazis assaulted a bartender who had confronted the group.

"I'm curious: Why Nashville? Why did you guys choose Nashville?" I asked Minadeo.

A fellow GDL member, Nicholas Bysheim, quickly answered.

"It's the only place that respects freedom of speech," Bysheim said.

Minadeo added, "Yeah, this city respects freedom of speech, but communist Jews like yourself don't."

A Californian who moved to Florida, Minadeo leads the hate group as it goes around the country trying to create scenes that they hope will bring them attention and followers.

One of their favorite tropes: Falsely accusing Jews of being pedophiles.

Over and over, it became clear that these are people who are blind to any facts that don't support their hate.

These are really pathetic human beings.

They are the only ones who seem not to know it.

I'm looking for a vegan sandwich protein recipe that is more of a whole food than the highly processed food that is often found in stores. So far, I'm going to try out lentil patties. I figure I can freeze a batch and stick them in the air fryer as needed. Any other ideas?

The mod team could use one or two more people. I joined a couple of years ago more as a caretaker for the space than someone with a passionate interest in building a community. Now that Lemmy is maturing, it's my hope to be replaced by someone who is willing to spend the time that it takes.

tl;dr: Please crosspost to our sister community !feminism@beehaw.org

This is a followup to the previous post locking the community and redirecting to the more active community at !feminism@beehaw.org. As several of the comments pointed out, beehaw has defederated with at least one popular Lemmy instance, lemmy.world. That would warrant keeping this community, the second largest feminism community by subscribers, open so that there is a feminism community on a general purpose instance.

However, we're still concerned with the low traffic here. The responses to the previous announcement post represent about half the comments from the past year. To facilitate growth, both !feminism@beehaw.org and this community are asking our members to crosspost to both communities.

The !feminism@beehaw.org community has long since become the largest Lemmy community. In acknowledgement of that, I have decided in consultation with @Gaywallet@beehaw.org to lock this community and redirect.

Personally, I am male and only took on the mod post to make sure Lemmy had a feminism community in the early days of Lemmy, so I'm happy to cede the title to a more vibrant community. If someone wishes to attempt to revive the lemmy.ml community, please get in contact.

Edit: In response to feedback, see:

Oh yikes, zoonotic pathogens rejoice! We can barely deal with our own poop not making other humans sick.

Is it too much to ask for a car that doesn't spy on me, is reasonably comfortable, is efficient, and maybe has a few extra "smart" features to help me not run into other people? I guess my bike will do for now.

There is, unfortunately, no law against saying you're going to be a power abusing jackass. And the Republicans have decided that if he gets into office, they'll protect him from impeachment and removal no matter what. His lawyers have literally argued that the president can order assassinations of their political rivals.

So no, we're not okay.

The world power needs to understand that it has crossed the line

So showing any backbone is crossing the line? Wow.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks. My thoughts go out to the victims, their families, and the people of Russia. This is just terrible.

“Welcome to the end of democracy!” Posobiec declared. “We’re here to overthrow it completely. We didn’t get all the way there on January 6th, but we will endeavor to get rid of it and replace it with this right here,” he said, holding his fist in the air. “That’s right, because all glory is not to government, all glory to God.”

When Democrats raise red flags about Republicans trying to end democracy, maybe listen, because Republicans aren't hiding it anymore.

It was so frustrating watching some people treat him like he was anything close to a real journalist. He's just the designated propagandist.

It's been 17 years since the last election. Assuming only 18 and up could vote, that means only people current around 34 and up could vote. So the bulk of Palestinians didn't even have a chance to vote in that election. Not to mention that they were given the choice between a corrupt faction (Fatah) and a possible less corrupt faction (Hamas).
