Running it through Subtitle Edit with WhisperX can help a lot for longer movies. It breaks the file into much smaller pieces and runs Whisper on them one by one before stitching the result back together.

Most services allow you to pay with cash, crypto, or gift card.

Not really, that’s his surname, that’s generally how we refer to world leaders.

In this case, the indexer is talking about the .nzb, which does usually contain an identifier about which account accessed it. Remember that an .nzb is just a plaintext file providing links to the many split .rar files that will be combined during unpacking, plus the parity files that can be used to recreate missing .rar files if one is missing.

Indexers want to prevent the .nzb from being leaked onto the open internet, or to other indexers, to prevent those links from getting a DMCA/NTD takedown request for as long as possible.

There is no way to identify who downloaded a .mp4, they are not fingerprinted & every person who downloads is getting an identical copy. Share them widely.

Interesting regional differences. It's incredibly rare that I find a store that doesn't support tap-to-pay

This honestly just makes the room smell like dryer sheet flavored weed smoke though. Might mask the smell a tiny bit but isn’t fooling anyone.

I daily drive a Bolt and absolutely love it. It's the most practical commuting and errand running car on the market IMO. Fantastic efficiency and so spacious for it's size.

I hope the new battery platform means it gets faster DCFC. The 50 kW limit is very limiting for road trips much longer than the a full battery's distance.

I believe you're referring to Home Assistant.

Would recommend. Having a free (as in freedom) smart home is incredibly convenient, without most of the downsides folks are worrying about here.

This is one of the worst proofread articles I’ve ever seen from The Verge.

  • Nobody has 100/200 Gbps home internet. Likely means Mbps
  • covid should be capitalized as COVID

Just setting up energy monitoring (I'm running an IoTaWatt system) at my home has been huge for understanding how much electricity we're using, and for what appliances.

Very inexpensive investments can make a huge impact, especially with the availability of IRA tax credits and if you're willing to do some DIY to get it running.

Good point. Still, I worry that most dangerous thing to happen to the country next year is for someone to win with Trump's policies, but with a higher degree of competence and professionalism.

It's hard to say if his base will see and get engaged enough to vote for that. Culture Warrior DeSantis seems to get them pretty excited.

This is good for the rule of law and accountability, but this will likely help make the Republican primary less of a clownshow in a way that I think very likely will help the GOP.
