It is if you finesse it enough

Haha so funny!

It's very interesting when someone conflates:

"Please stop worshipping this politician, they are not a good person. Here, look, the things you are upset about that this other politician said have also been said by this politician you like. Maybe you're caught up in the political spectacle? Because neither one of these politicians have your best interests at heart."

And:

"ThEyy ARe tHe SaMe!;:; "

Have an actual conversation about facts, and the real things a "representative" has actually done historically. If you believe the electoral system works, then the only way to hold a politician accountable is to make sure they know your values/interests/etc ., and THEN should they not up hold these values, DO NOT vote for them. If you vote for them because they are not the other person, no matter what they do, why would they bother to do anything for you? They know you'll vote for them anyway.

Which I suppose (bit of on the fly analysis here) means the Republicans need the Democrats and the Democrats need the Republicans. Both are easy scapegoats for each other, and make it so the voters will choose the party that presents the image and ideas that you most align with, without ever having to do anything.

It's Utopianism at its finest, and an incredibly effective tool of control.

So, in the aftermath of what I'm sure was an incredibly boring, unproductive, and business as usual USPE "debate", I have already had memes/gifs/etc. sent to me with various versions of "Trump is a doodoo head".

Fine, I agree, but these are also people who think it's great that Harris is the Dem Candidate.

I'm looking for videos, gifs, reels, tic tocs, whatever really, that show her saying here fascist things. Ideally in a format mirroring Trumps fascist things. If the mirrored versions don't exist I suppose I can splice them together....

Anyway, It would be great if anyone had/knew where I could find such a thing. I really don't want to keep hearing about this garbage heap of propaganda and disappointment if I can help it... Especially here in Klanada

So along these lines, I went to my first pride parade ever, and served as security. The parade was marshalled by the local Palestine solidarity group, and we were briefed about possible people who may case issue.

We were ready for basically anything.

No one showed up spouting hate or Zionism (well one Zionist but they ran away when we started recording them). The only issue was a cop tried to stop the "from the river to the sea" chant. Unsuccessfully because someone in the parade had babysat his kids a bunch, and the guy with the megaphone yelled "He's trying to say we can't chant from the river to the sea. What do we think of that!"

And the parade chanted it sooooo much louder. The people lining the streets (maybe 50%?) chanted along with the Palestinian group.

Still, not hate.

The point is, the hate we see is largely manufactured. And those spouting it are often cowards. Real people care about rights and liberation.

Being an economist seems like the easiest job in world. Don't get me wrong, you're gonna need to give up your soul, but the actual work? Prices this, trickle down that, boots straps a bit, and boom pay cheque

So this made me think of a new way to do a communism. Build up a huge military and keep it somewhat secret, but be friendly to foreign investors so that they open tons of industry in your country. When you are satisfied, nationalize all these industries. Obviously the country will declare war on you (in game or irl) but because you have a huge military you fight them off and take over their country too! Reverse imperialism.

Taken steps mean they have begun a meeting about setting up a committee to see if creating a committee to look at meeting about building drones is a good idea. Then, after several years, they will decide whether or not they have the productive capacity to do so. Which will lead to them asking China if they can manufacture drones for them.

I thought this changes absolutely nothing materially other than emboldening his clowns? He can still run right?

Securing a computer? (lemmygrad.ml)
submitted 4 months ago by rando895@lemmygrad.ml to c/security@lemmy.ml

So I have a situation where I would like to keep data secure. In my mind if I'm working on a computer that has no network connection, this is the safest.

However, I may from time to time need to transfer data to this machine, which introduces a vulnerability. Any thoughts on how I could minimize the risk in this case?

Can I just take a moment to appreciate that y'all exist? I can't believe I once spent so much time on r/ and bombarded by liberal dogma....

Reading this at first I thought "no it won't fail without intervention". But this time it's different (also arguably we just ignored fascism last time but whatever). It's not just a single country or two, it's basically the "world government/police" that is fascist. But we are also no longer in a mono-polar world, people have non-state affiliated media, and within the empire the lives of the empires subjects are falling apart.

The "good guy" narrative is falling apart.

But we definitely need to organize before things get too bad.

This has been thoughts whilst pooping (a subsidiary of TED talks).

The shit we are going to have to go through so that we can one day chill and enjoy life, should be unnecessary.

It's like the easiest thing he could do to accelerate the end of the American empire.

It's crazy how fragile capitalism makes .... Well everything

I think the words "foreign country" are doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

It's like waving the Florida flag
