Bots are already proliferating the fediverse. Kbin is constantly spammed with "buy online drugs here" links. Transparent bots (those that are tagged as bots) try to boost engagement by reposting things from Reddit, but are still perpetuating one of the worst aspects of reddit even if they're being upfront about it. AI generated articles posted on obvious junk websites are constantly being spammed by the same accounts.

It's a difficult problem to solve.

I'm ok with how Valve is doing things right now. If they followed the same path of EA, Blizzard, and every other big developer from the 90s/00s we'd be on HL5, L4D9 Left for Deadest, TF 3 but it's a live service on season 15 and constant price increases on the season passes.

Let them experiment and dip their toes into new game types.

Pay enough and staff correctly and the people will come. My wife is an RN. I know directly from her that most places don't do any of those things and still complain about shortages.

Who knew profit driven medical care was a bad idea /s

Dave Ramsey is not a finance guru. He's a corporate whore who is paid to shill whatever narrative he's told to.

The fact it's a video game smells of Musk's touch. Anyone else remember all the tweets he made about Tesla running games on the main monitor?

Lie is a tough word to use in law and journalism. To accuse someone of lying you have to prove intent to tell the lie vs being truly mistaken.

For example, if I say the Earth is flat am I lying or mistaken? If I truly believe that, then it's not a lie, even though facts clearly say otherwise. I'm just not aware or choose to disagree with those facts.

It's maddening. I'm with you and wish journalists would use harsher language in obvious cases, but I understand why they tend not to as a standard to ensure they're not opening themselves up to claims of liable and defamation.

Not a Lemmy issue. Click bait unfortunately works to drive views through all social media platforms.

The thing I love is being able to click into the comments first to see the auto-generated summary. Prevents the site from getting my traffic.

It's not just for the comedy. Flooding the form with useless data wastes time and hopefully prevents them from finding any actionable reports from other fascists.

The trick is to not just meme. Make it sound real, but use 100% false data

No doubt it will be another handheld running Windows though instead of Linux

I will game on a Windows based PC, but Linux is a must have on hand held - Windows is too resource intensive, developers are not going to be able to get the same OS optimization out of Windows that they can with Linux

Didn't Dodd-Frank get gutted a bit in recent years?

I think the joke is that whoever is badass enough to ride the bear is making the other patrons leave as fast as possible, even if it means throwing themselves through the window.

Any time someone bitches about government oversight and regulations, I think about cases just like this. In many cases we should WANT a large bureaucracy with plenty of checks and approvals overseeing things like this.
