Some controversial picks in here! Juri not top tier, Dee Jay down in B tier. What do people think?

It totally does, and lem.my is even available! But you need to be an officially registered business in Malaysia to get a .my domain which is going to make it hard. Otherwise I would have registered it already ๐Ÿ˜…

VMs or containers? (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago by rpn@lemmy.world to c/selfhosted@lemmy.world

I'm thinking about starting a self hosting setup, and my first thought was to install k8s (k3s probably) and containerise everything.

But I see most people on here seem to recommend virtualizing everything with proxmox.

What are the benefits of using VMs/proxmox over containers/k8s?

Or really I'm more interested in the reverse, are there reasons not to just run everything with k8s as the base layer? Since it's more relevant to my actual job, I'd lean towards ramping up on k8s unless there's a compelling reason not to.

SF6 is my first fighting game ever, and I have complex feelings on this topic.

When I started I intended to use modern controls as an easier way to get into the game. But after an hour or so of playing, I wasn't having fun. Mainly because of auto combo. I got too much for free and didn't feel like I was earning my wins. If it wasn't for auto combo I probably would have stuck with it.

So I switched to classic and am grinding my way up the hard way. Currently in Bronze 4 and still lose a lot of matches to execution errors, dropping a super, messing up the one combo I know haha, etc. So I do find it tilting to lose to modern when I know they don't have to go through the same struggles.

I'm sure it's the case that at higher ranks the difference is minimal, but for new players modern is a huge advantage, and IMO way less fun if you're actually trying to improve at the game.

That said, even in bronze I face very few modern players, so it's not a big deal.

Overall I think it's a fantastic addition for people just having fun. I play with my wife and she has much more fun with modern controls than she would with classic.

I'm very new to fighting games, and have been practicing getting my inputs right with some simple Ryu combos.

I was practicing doing s.MP, od-tatsu, heavy DP into lv3 super in the corner and got pretty consistent landing it.

Then I decided to test it after a blocked DI corner crumple, and the super will never come out. Even after tons and tons of attempts, the super won't come out. But without the DI at the start I get it every time. I don't really understand what is going on.

Is there some game mechanics reason why it won't let me cancel DP into super after the DI corner crumple? Or am I just bad? ๐Ÿ˜…
