I live pretty close to your area and just bought my first bag of whole bean coffee this week (previously just got pre-ground packages from the grocery). Most of the coffee shops in my area (eTown) use Senergos as their roaster, so that's what we got to start. Excited to try some other stuff regionally.

Staining red oak for a slat wall around our fireplace. Hope to get it installed this week.

Decided if I was going to lose all my data I may as well make the most of it. So today I factory reset, rooted, unlocked, and flashed Lineage OS onto it. It's running way better but still lags a lot. Might be time to upgrade.

I don't see how he could have survived. But I hope he did for his sake.

We live in a pretty rural area and take a lot of trips on it. We've even camped in the back with the seats down. It's also the first SUV we've owned and just love the versatility of it. But that part is true of any SUV.

I absolutely love our 2013 Toyota Highlander Limited. Have a roof rack on it and it's fantastic at what it does. Just got back from a trip to town with two little ones and a load of lumber on the roof. It's understated styling is just so pleasing to look at and it's really comfortable inside with an amazing sound system. Just all around a very enjoyable (albeit boring) car to own.

Fantastic article! I used to love loitering as a kid/young adult. I should do more of it.

So, dumb question but what is exploding-heads? Are they actual Nazis or like far-right wackos and MAGA nuts?

Yesterday I swung by someone's house for something and she was out in the treehouse reading or writing something. No social media. Didn't see a phone. Just enjoying the moment. Best quote from Secret Life of Walter Mitty, "Beautiful things don't ask for attention". The moment when the world famous photographer sees the elusive snow leopard he's been chasing and rather than take the photo he just sits there and breathes in that moment. Not even doing what he came to do just so he gets to fully experience it. That's slow living. It's inherently anti-social media

Some good advice and sorta what I didn't want to hear lol. My wife and I do have a night every week when family watches the kids and we go on a date or just spend time together. I think I just have to come to terms with the fact that the house will always need cleaned and that there will always be a list of maintenance things that need done. I guess my issue is that I often need a clean house and mind in order to have peace. So maybe I need to work on my mentality with those things to have peace even with things that need done and a messy house.

My wife and I lead a pretty simple life. I work from home at a low-stress job. She is a stay-at-home mom. We have a small house, a garden, and some chickens. But we have a 3-month-old and a two-year-old. Nothing about our life feels slow or simple. On top of watching the kids there's always tons cleaning to do and house repairs and upkeep. How do you balance things that aren't optional like vehicle/house maintenance, upkeep, and raising kids? Is simple living just a luxury of those who don't have kids?

Or are we already living simply and it just doesn't FEEL simple?
