Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the big players have replaced chemical weapons with something just as horrible but more "smart" like micro-drones with explosive charges and facial recognition.

According to priuschat you can leave your prius "idling" with light duty power draws (a small lcd tv and a fan) for about 7 days on a full tank of gas.
Also I think on the prius the starter motor-generator is also the one that bleeds excess engine power to charge the battery, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Given their push for an IPO, I wouldn't be surprised if this is an excuse for lower traffic numbers. "Hey, look, these guys all went to protest but there was an outage. Nothing correlates the numbers. Now that we're back up on XYZ date, everything is returning to normal! It was no big deal!"

I have a half written FATE campaign that starts off with making the players thinking it's an isekai until about session 3 when I corner them with enemies, play this, and give them their I am thou, thou art I speil; surprise you fools you thought it was an isekai deconstruction but it was Persona the whole time!
