The IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance. Legitimate target of violent armed resistance. It's the law.

Let’s be precise here: the IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance. Legitimate target of violent armed resistance. Period.

Bob Vylan are not calling for the destruction of an ethnicity, a religion, a nation. They are calling for the destruction of a genocidal army. Just like the South African Defence Forces of the South African Apartheid era absolutely deserved to be destroyed as a criminal organization, so do the Israeli Defence Forces of the Israeli Apartheid era.

Conscription was also mandatory in Apartheid South Africa for whites. This does not absolve the whites who participated in Apartheid. Jewish history itself teaches us that "following orders" is not an excuse for carrying out a genocide. It is clear in fact, that the mandatory nature of the conscription is a mechanism for making all Israelis complicit, and should be a target for abolition by Israelis of conscience themselves, again, just like in Apartheid South Africa. And of course, it fucking is.

Death to apartheid and death to its institutions. Never again this shit, for anyone, anywhere.

The only thing nazis were right about was when Hitler bit the barrel of his gun. Fuck nazis. Our Jewish brothers and sisters out here in the diaspora are not to blame for what the Israeli fascist regime is doing.

Lol, everything is sold out.

If you're referring to the "Death to the IDF" chant, let's be extremely fucking precise here: the IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance. Legitimate target of violent armed resistance. Period.

And Bob Vylan are not calling for the destruction of an ethnicity, a religion, a nation. They are calling for the destruction of a genocidal army. What's really fucked up is that, at this point, this kind of story hits much harder to me as a westerner, than the stories about shootings in food lines. Because food lines and random wanton shootings are not something I can easily relate to and I've heard it so many goddamn fucking times that I've been numbed. But the bombing of a seaside café, I feel that. That's a part of me that hasn't been numbed yet.

Motherfuckers.

Stop the genocide, death to apartheid.

So their US visas got revoked. Meh. Who needs to go to the US anyway, who needs to be interrogated by some fascist chode at the border.

If you listen carefully, there is something very soft about them too though. Their songs will sometimes go off into incredibly positive messages, which hit that much harder because they come from such anger. Example, in their "Hunger Games":

You are more than your take home pay
Making barely enough to make it through the day
I know, I know, I know
You are more than your ability to earn
You are more than your future successors
You are here, you are now
Surely, your existence is testament
To the successful lineage from which you were arrived
Here, now
You are stronger than you think you are
You are love
You are not alone
You are going through hell, but keep going
Be proud, be open
Be loud, be hopeful
Be healthy, be happy
Be kind to yourself
Be decisive
Here, now
Do not live every day as if it is your last
Live every day as if it is your first
Full of wonder and excitement
As you wonder along, excited
Marveling at the possibilities of all that stands before you
Here, now

Weak and timid liberals are paving the road to rabid right wing extremists. It happened in the US and Italy, it's happening in the UK and France, to an extent in Germany, and now here.

Sorry mate, this "money" thing can only be owned by humans. See, that dog over there, that chair, that building, or that chatbot over yonder, they can't own anything, because they're not human. If you are not part of humanity, you can't own human IOU credits. So, have fun at the island, we'll check in on you in October.

I wonder why he's not just joining the Libertarians.

With the whole Glastonbury kerfuffle I've come to know more about this band called Bob Vylan. They have this lovely song, and it goes ike this:

I heard you want your country back
Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
Uh-uh, you can't have that
The only place I know
Stolen right under my nose
By ignorant scum
Tryna lay claim to a land that ain't theirs anyway
Wait - what did you say?
I heard you want your country back
Ha! Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
Uh-uh, you can't have that
I heard you want your country back
Ha! Shut the fuck up
I heard you want your country back
Well shit, me too

The double turn is an attempt to use a very simple system – a single die roll – to introduce a very dramatic outcome – comebacks – in a game that wants to provide an even playing field for competition.

Let's say for example that I want to share this post https://mas.to/@NunavutBirder/110584158893944201 to !canada@lemmy.ca .

I can of course just create a post with the URL from my lemmy account. But is there a more ...fediverse-ish way of doing it?

I know for example, that in Mastodon, I can make a post and mention @canada@lemmy.ca and that will create a post in !canada@lemmy.ca.

But I guess what I'm saying is that I want to somehow "boost" an existing mastodon post to lemmy. Does that make sense? Is it possible?
