i think it would strike a stronger chord to mention that the people who lived through it are still alive and some of them are running for president.

he's always has been and will always be an establishment democrat who used to dunk on minorities for easy political points like trump currently does; but people do their best to whitewash his past to differentiate him from trump, making the farce more noticeable to people to pay the slightest bit of attention.

legalizing weed would give him an easy victory and the fact that he won't do it proves his establishment democrat character.

i bet whatever form california and texas (and maybe new york or florida) end up as would gobble up their significantly weaker/poorer neighbors and both would end up warring with each other at some point.
