Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you so much for saying it out loud! I did wonder about potential consequences of not-blocking - I like that it's kind of bouncy in its current state. However, it will have to be washed at some point, so I figured it's better to find out now... Tension-wise, it's a little messy (two years on the needles) but it's also hairy so it's not super obvious. Mostly, I'd like to soak it to wash away the project-of-doom vibes and initiate it as a garment.

Did that evolve into four-at-a-time sleeves?

They're beautiful!

+1 from me for circulars for everything! Also, circular needles are easier to manoeuvre, compared to straight needles that seem to be constantly in the way, stabbing yourself or the person sitting next to you.

For the record: I'm not bored of it either! Looks stunning!

So true! I've felted a couple of wool items over the past two years because I wasn't paying attention... And modern acrylics are so soft! I went through my mom's abandoned stash today and the acrylic yarns she had from the eighties. Were. So. Rough.

(To be clear: mom's fine, just not knitting any more)

I'm right there with you. No finished projects in my household and the only thing I've ever blocked are my recent swatches. So, thanks for asking the question!

On a different note:
I totally misinterpreted where you were going with this post, based on the title alone (before reading the main body). I expected it would be about the void left behind when a longtime project is completed. :D

"Specialized hobby tools" sounds like a community I would join... BTW, I'm a little proud that I attracted attention from the local timeline :) If you stick around, we might even convert you to knitting!

Some hard blocking will definitely happen!

This little lemming, with its scarf and its button nose, makes me smile every time a knitting post appears in my timeline. Thank you!

To be completely honest, I have zero ambition to chase a deadline with that, or any, project. It's done, when it's done.

The yarn only has a small percentage of linen, and I found it fairly pleasant to hold - but obvs nothing like a nice soft merino. However, it splits somewhat easily.
All in all, I think it's worth giving it a chance, if you like summer knits.
