The stock market is around the same level it was 6 months ago and still down from the beginning of his presidency

In my experience, extreme wealth is a sign of one or more of: inherited wealth, lack of morality, lack of empathy, lack of humility, lack of self-reflection, or luck. In most cases these people are simply so broken that they'll justify exploiting other people to get what they want in ways that people with morals simply refuse to.

Intelligence isn't a major factor.

Also they're willing to spend millions of dollars on a dinner like this because what's the downside? Losing that money won't affect their lifestyle in any way. Worst-case scenario, they get a story out of it. Best-case scenario, they get face time with the most powerful person on the planet and maybe a sympathetic ear if they get in trouble with the law (since all of them are privately breaking the law in some way).

If it's too hard, he should fucking resign.

Signed, Also someone who's had a stroke

Facial recognition has important roles—for example, finding lost or displaced children.

Now: "But what about the children?" Next: Vague child safety or terrorism justification to deploy this everywhere

This is a shitty take. Fetterman sucks all on his own, with or without the stroke.

I like how "REAL ID" is always in all-caps so it sounds increasingly sarcastic and incredulous

"Apparently a REAL ID is not valid anymore. He has a REAL ID," his cousin Shelah Venegas said. "We all made sure we have the REAL ID and went through the protocols the administration is asking for. ... He has his REAL ID and then they see him and I guess because his English isn't fluent and/or because he's brown it's fake, it's not real."

Apple is the third richest company on the planet. Sometimes first, sometimes second. They didn't get there by shining shoes.

Everyone should subscribe to this channel. It's one of the most informative ones on YouTube, and it's been in my subscribe list for a long time. All pro-worker, class consciousness, truth and accountability, pro-human rights content.

They... didn't?

The first reference is framed very skeptically. It's written in such a way to lead readers to think: if GAO exists for this purpose and is good at it, why did they create DOGE?

That said, GAO and DOGE supposedly have a very similar mission, says Walker, who has been nominated to Senate-confirmed positions by both Republican and Democratic presidents over the years.

Both GAO and DOGE are supposed to root out waste, fraud and abuse. But GAO has been doing that for decades, has a staff of several thousand people and, Walker says, is really good at it.

The second is near the bottom and is just reporting what the White House claims.

The White House did not respond to NPR's request for comment for this story but has defended DOGE for finding waste, fraud and abuse throughout the federal government.

Yes, and why was it not mentioned immediately after his quote in this article, let alone challenged immediately after he said it? Historical illiteracy is so common in news reporting. It's embarrassing.

I was very close to just unloading everything except index funds if it had gotten maybe 10% higher. Oh well.
