Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Amazon is applying a fuel surcharge to fulfillment fees for sellers in Canada and the U.S., a spokesperson for the e-commerce giant confirmed to CBC News on Thursday.

The 3.5 per cent surcharge will first apply to those using the Fulfillment by Amazon program, through which sellers can outsource packing and shipping to the company's fulfillment warehouses. This surcharge, meant for those with an online Amazon storefront operating in the United States and Canada, will be imposed beginning on April 17.

Sellers who use the company's Multi-Channel Fulfillment program — which can be used by those who have a non-Amazon sales channel, like a personal website — will see a surcharge starting on May 2.

“Elevated costs in fuel and logistics have increased the cost of operating across the industry," the spokesperson said in a statement, saying the company has "absorbed these increases" so far.

"But similar to other major carriers, when costs remain elevated we implement temporary surcharges to partially recover these costs," the spokesperson wrote. "We remain committed to our selling partners’ success and to maintaining broad selection and low prices for customers.”

A number of major companies who offer consumer services have added fuel surcharges to their base rate in the weeks since the beginning of a global energy crisis that began with the U.S. and Israel's attack on Iran.

The selling stuff is a loss leader thing for Amazon they make their money off of AWS.

As required by rules I clearly state that I'm affiliated with the site. It's a new project: Concept-proof site about advertising with European tools that is run and promote with European tools only. It's very fresh and right now it's only available in Polish, but I hope we will get there with enough support.

Linked article is specifically why it's not only immoral but also dangerous to rally on US advertising tools.

If it's not suitable, or nor useful feel free to nuke this post. I hope it's ok.

I stopped using the Google for everything (minus youtube) years ago. I had moved to Ecosia, I believe it is a US based charity (edit I was corrected it is a European non profit) project to plant trees in the desert and stuff. I know it took search things from, I wanna say; Google, Bing, and maybe Yahoo to get search results (will be trying to move to the EU search engine some time). I am sure the ads, that my pihole setup could not block, they show where from Google (edit Yahoo and Google) but it is not like I intentionally clicked them.

I got onto the self hosting train fairly hard because of the BoycottUS movement and I finally got searXNG working and set up as my default search engine on my iPad. Sure it is pulling results from US search engines but I am not paying for them (via my eyeballs on ads) and it is another US service I get to remove from the list of things to boycott!

There is a pretty big movement in Denmark that tried to avoid US products and companies based in Denmark. I assume this is why they have launched a massive campaign where they use local sayings in a humorous way.

You can read more and see more examples here:

Are there any other similar attempts where you are, where they or other US companies try to regain market share?

Accounts are emerging from people deported from the U.S. to the African petrostate of Equatorial Guinea in a multi-million-dollar, third-country deal with the Trump administration.
