I was listening to a podcast and the guy was making a point that the Jedi were just like the janissaries of the Ottoman empire because they "stole children" and I just... got so annoyed that I couldn't listen to it anymore, even though I kinda wanted to due to the other host.

I know where the argument about the Jedi comes from, which comes from the days of the old EU and Karen Traviss and all that stuff, but I just sort-of had a flash of anger. It's just a pop culture franchise, right? It's literally just a story. Hell, The Acolyte was pretty rough on the Jedi's portrayal and I enjoyed it.

Anyway, I just found it pretty dumb, but for some reason, I found that I couldn't continue. It's like I had a mental block.

I paused for a moment but then the Spotify episode remained paused.

I wasn't even that angry, but I... just found myself not interested in this spiel even though I'm normally interested in the podcast.

It just makes me feel so... Idk, silly? Thin-skinned?

To be fair, there were a few things in the podcast that annoyed me; they berated a person that asked a question in good faith, or so it seemed, and they never seemed to challenge each other all that much.

I don't even like the Jedi that much! By the Clone Wars era, they had clearly grown dodgy and conservative. Mind you, Anakin Skywalker is or was an abuser who killed Indigenous Tuskens, but, well, you know, some of the rules and how they were implemented in the Jedi Order probably didn't help his mental state either, though that's probably more the Council's doing.

Anyway, I don't know what came over me and why my anger "paralyzes" me sometimes. I haven't watched it in a few weeks but might again. But I feel somewhat ashamed because it seemed so, err, small.

  1. Take a Star Wars quiz

Do you think you know everything there is to know about the galaxy far, far away? Test your knowledge and take one of our many Star Wars trivia quizzes. Not only is it a chance to prove your expertise to your friends but it’s also a fun way to learn even more about the wider Star Wars universe. With questions spanning all the main movies as well as TV shows like The Mandalorian our quizzes will challenge even the most dedicated Star Wars fan. So grab your lightsaber (device) and get ready to show off your Jedi skills.

  1. Use the force in the kitchen

If you need a break from your Star Wars movie marathon and let’s face it we’re all human why not flex your creative muscles in the kitchen and get baking. Just like the staff on the death star perhaps while we didn’t seen their canteen everyone who worked there must have had lunch at some point. So why not team up with a grown-up in your house to make some Star Wars themed biscuits you can make the basic dough and then get some help to cut out a death star (easy a circle) or a T.I.E. Fighter (not so easy especially if it’s Darth Vader’s custom built vehicle).

  1. Have a lightsaber duel

Woah stop right there we’re not suggesting for one moment that you use a real lightsaber because they’re very, very dangerous help is at hand as we have some extremely safe alternatives for any would be Jedis. Why not get some different coloured long balloons and do battle with the other Star Wars fans in your house that way? Don’t forget to make the sounds when you defend the rebel alliance and it’ll just be like the real thing. Whooooosh

  1. Listen to the Star Wars music

The music in the Star Wars movies is amazing that’s thanks to the composer John Williams whose genius shaped the more dramatic moments in this epic story. If anyone in your house uses a music streaming service ask their permission to search for the Star Wars soundtracks and march around the house to those intergalactic bangers maybe use The Cantina Band song when dinner is being served and pretend you’re with Obi Wan and Luke.

  1. Write a Star Wars story

There’s lots of different Star Wars stories with detailed back stories for the main characters why not pick a lesser known character and write a story about them. You could even write the plot for a film involving your favourite gang. All you need is a pen some paper and your imagination. You could even invent a new character and call them Keith it’s really up to you.

  1. Take your Wookiee to work or school okay well we know it can be hard to find a Wookiee particularly at short notice but that’s find just find a really hairy dog instead and take them with you to school. Well that’s if your school don’t mind you bringing a dog along and maybe Dennis might tell us some tips on how to keep a dog entertained in the classroom. If your school aren’t into the idea of a dog wandering around while your teacher is trying to make you learn stuff then maybe you might have to find a Wookiee after all.

  2. Give yourself a Star Wars name

Kylo Ren, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, Rey. Star Wars is full of characters with great names and why not get in on the act yourself and give yourself a special Star Wars name for the day. You could be Jeanida Silth or Yagorn Deccol maybe and the best thing is your teacher won’t be able to call your name out when they do the morning register unless your teacher’s a Jedi.

  1. Talk like Yoda for the day you could Ever wonder why Yoda talks so funny do you? Well wonder no more the wise jedi master speaks in a unique way because he follows a grammatical structure known as object-subject-verb’ which is different from the usual subject-verb-object structure used in English. This distinctive way of speaking is known as Yoda speak and it helps to emphasise important words and create a more memorable sentence structure. It also adds to Yoda’s mystique and wisdom making his words more clever and memorable.

Yoda’s speech pattern has become so iconic that it’s been parodied and imitated countless times in TV shows and beyond from adverts to memes everyone loves a good Yoda impression. So next time you hear him say do or do not there is no try remember that it’s not just what he’s saying it’s also how he’s saying it and that he was originally voiced by Frank Oz who also gave Miss Piggy from the muppets her legendary way of speaking to Kermit.

Let’s be honest speaking in the style of a Jedi Master is miles better than speaking like a boring old human being so why don’t you make things fun for May the Forth by talking like Yoda himself and if you’re at school don’t let that stop you. Teachers get confused they might, but you can always use your Jedi mind skills to get out of class early.

  1. Attack of the snacks

Speaking of snacks to while you’re preparing for your galactic film fest what better way to keep yourself going than with a plate full of Star Wars shaped snacks. We reckon your could prepare enough tasty treats to keep even Jabba the Hutt from going peckish and while we’re sure Bantha milk is delicious and nutritious we wouldn’t recommend making your own version. Just pretend it’s blue maybe.

  1. Start a Star Wars movie marathon

Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, The Rise of Skywalker or whatever your favourite Star Wars film is there are so many movies and TV series to choose from. It’s pretty hard to pick just one so instead why don’t you watch the entire series from beginning to end while we don’t have the exact number of minutes we’re certain it would take ages. So it might be worth telling a grown up before you start you know so they’ll be able to provide water and snacks and stuff like that. If you had time to choose just one Star Wars movie which one would you pick.

After transliterating the coordinates seen in the last two episodes, I am safe enough to say that At Attin is in the vicinity of G'wenee and Dathomir, while At Aytuu should be vaguely in the vicinity of Batuu.

At Aytuu
Grid square: G-15
XYZ coordinates: -403.25, -593.33, (not visible)

At Attin
Grid square: N-6
XYZ coordinates: 285.91, 375.30, 019.82

The XYZ coordinates seems to be fitting with the grid location, if compared to the ones of other planets in the surroundings.

You can get an idea here: http://www.swgalaxymap.com/

I just updated the respective Wookiepedia.

(Art by Chyche) Obviously, that possibility is long gone in the main continuity, but what about a timeline where Order 66 never happened and Palpatine was defeated that day? Do you think Ahsoka would be the type to want a family (i.e. a partner and children) or do you think she would want to remain single instead of settling down?

Jedi do not kidnap.

Adoption is not kidnapping by itself (though it certainly can be in, for example, U.S. history).

The Sith clearly kidnap.

I don't like how The Acolyte is changing this.

I'm worried about where the series is going.

It's been my favorite series outside of Andor.

But yeah, this does not look good.

(I haven't seen the recent episode though.)

Check it out.

I like the influence of Daoism on Star Wars and the Jedi religion. Also, they could've brought up the "Don Juan" influence of Star Wars and the Force. Good that the video touched on the New Age crap that inspired Star Wars, of course. Ugh, I hate New Age crap. But hey, it inspired George Lucas and gave us the Jedi so whatever.

Also, I like how they brought up the scene with Qui-Gon Jinn and Yoda in The Clone Wars series.

I thought they could've done more with this video and they missed a lot besides.

In fact, you could make a whole documentary of this, but it seems that this is the opening to a whole series so I'll be patient.

What influences do you think they could've emphasized here?

What else could they have said?

I feel like there are a lot of things that could've been said here, but it's definitely not a right-wing video and is even a bit... left-wing? Idk. I liked how it didn't try to pander to right-wing chuds. I like that aspect of it, at least.

Actually, on second thought:

Watch this video and keep up with the series sometime.

Cheers!

P.S.: What are your thoughts on what this series may be missing and what should be emphasized?

For me, they could easily bring up the corporatist politics of the Separatists and the nationalist politics of them and the fact there are stuff revealed about the politics of the Old Republic in The Clone Wars CGI series.

It's pretty good, but I didn't like episodes 6 and 7, though they were good in terms of quality. What I mean is that I personally didn't like them. Everything was wrapped up too neatly for my tastes, though a lot of people enjoyed the last two recent episodes. I will say this: the show certainly keeps you guessing and I like that. And the last two episodes certainly continued that tradition.

I feel that the first four episodes of season 3 were my favorite thus far. Crosshair and Omega shine as usual. I hope they both survive. The others can take a hike lol

(I kid about that last part, but I just find Omega and Crosshair more interesting; plus, I miss Tech already.)

Honestly, all three were pretty good and well-connected with each other (while still being somewhat standalone). I'm guessing we'll be having either two or even three separate storylines (cutting between Tantiss crew, Omega/Crosshair, and Hunter/Wrecker). There's also the possibility of following Rex/Echo in their own storyline, but then again, that's wishful thinking on my part. I like anthology formats or storylines that have separate POVs throughout the, well, story. Makes things more interesting that way.

Mainly, I miss TCW for the anthology format, but we'll see how season 3 goes as it's already off to a great start.

Discuss!
