I thought I had a third question. Maybe I'll edit that later.
All episodes starting from the second season until circa 2000 are gold. After having told every story the scripts and characters descended into ridiculousness.
My favourite episode is the one where Homer wants to become a clown. It's so stuffed with jokes and silly ideas.
