G*mers attempting to simulate economy and crashing face first into dialectical materialism is one of my favourite new genres of comedy. Obligatory throwback to chuds crying about communism being overpowered in vicky3 cause you don’t lose half your productive output to landlords and porkies
Edit: it’s not really new if I think about it. Famously simcity fudged parking space needs to make cities that look actually nice. And dwarf fortress had to remove money since it almost immediately deteriorated into abject poverty and immoderation to the majority of the fort
If they really wanted realism they should have the top 10 world powers declare war on you immediately after you do a communism.
They do get a huge relations penalty i think
The whole game is going to be different in 2 weeks though. You'll be able to nationalize industries other countries have invested in building in your states, i bet that'll piss em right off
So this made me think of a new way to do a communism. Build up a huge military and keep it somewhat secret, but be friendly to foreign investors so that they open tons of industry in your country. When you are satisfied, nationalize all these industries. Obviously the country will declare war on you (in game or irl) but because you have a huge military you fight them off and take over their country too! Reverse imperialism.
soon
Probably won't work in Vicky 3. The industries foreign investors would be after would likely just be extractive, and due to slow pop growth (or even decline) in smaller, poorer countries, the interest groups you need to go commie (trade unions, mostly) won't be able to get big enough. IMO this new DLC is largely the devs just throwing up their hands and giving up because they STILL can't get countries to extract oil on their own in the late-game.
