The best way to protest is to not participate
While I understand the sentiment, Spez was astroturfing when I left, and appears he still is. If a chunk of users chose to lurk to twist his nipples, let them. It’s their time and and if anyone deserves trolling, it’s the guy who had thousands of alts.
"I'm going to own my ex-girlfriend by mailing her a check for $100 and writing 'fuck you' on the memo line. When she deposits the money into her bank account she will be totally trolled."
Well, when they IPO this is the kind of stuff that will turn off potential investors, so that's where it'll hurt spez.
Do you honestly think it'll hurt their valuation because somebody said something mean about the CEO? You do realize some of the most profitable companies on this planet have nearly universally hated CEOs, right? Being hated is like 90% of the job because they take the heat for the company as a whole.
Engagement metrics are up, that's all that counts.
The real numbers here would be close to $ 0.00001 which would be more than acceptable prank
Each click adds up to a number on a PowerPoint slide presented in investment meetings.
"...and here's how we'll monetize it!"
This is more like 1000 checks with 0.001$
I never said I would do it myself, but it’s their time to waste. Not to mention with everything the way it is, sometimes people have to choose the battles they stand for.
