Idk what the culture is over there but it was just a bit funny to see the entire thread I was replying to just removed. Like that doesn't happen here on kbin lmao. a bit of a culture clash there I guess.

I wonder if that's the norm for lemmy and beehaw? Here on kbin basically nothing is removed it seems. at least for now.

Interesting

I’m already noticing “cultural” differences between the different instances, almost like they’re virtual countries with their own traditions, but still able to see and talk to each other

It’s beautifully chaotic and open, like the Internet should be!

Yup. that's kinda how it feels to me. I saw someone describe it as lemmy is america and the lemmy instances are the states. and then kbin is canada lol.

It is if you ask a Trumper/QAnoner.

[-] Otome-chan@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

okay this is just funny. idk why all the right-wing republican types think people like biden are full on tankies lol. its just silly.

[-] Xeelee@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

Trump/QAnon is all about checking out from reality.

Is Lemmy? That would explain some things

the main official lemmy.ml instance and the development of the lemmy software is indeed run by tankies. other lemmy instances may or may not be tankies.

As an America currently browsing kbin from a Canadian bar I like the analogy.

[-] EROLoLICON@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

Guess I'm canadian then. Do you guys have some maple syrup?

[-] Otome-chan@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

your username ironically really proves the point. Just a few moments ago I saw beehaw users talking about how they're strictly against loli content (declaring it "illegal" even though that's not quite true), and here you are on kbin with it in your username lol.

Ehhhh. Depends upon the specifics and the geographical region where someone is. Not like there's one global law.

kbin is canada

confused lemmy.ca noises

[-] Otome-chan@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

lemmy.ca? I see you're from california.

[-] stephfinitely@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

I love this and am glad I'm based on Kbin.

[-] stephfinitely@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Lemmy is given me a bad taste so I turned off federation. Hopefully the ability to block instances will become native to Kbin soon and I can turn federation back on.
