I watched many Beat Takeshi movies and I really liked them. I found the Outrage trilogy (Outrage, Beyond Outrage, and Outrage Coda) be the closest to Yakuza games as it deals with conflict and drama within the leadership of the large clans. Also watched Sonatine, Violent Cop and Hana-bi.

I also liked Blood of wolves and Last of wolves. It's a cop drama but it's fun. The lastest movie I watched was A Legend of Turmoil (1992). 3/5 Engaging and fun, but predictable.

How about the Yakuza Stage Play? The full thing is on Youtube in two videos.
