put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @CoolerOpposide@hexbear.net:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

Even if Kamala wins, Trump derangement syndrome will continue. Biden has been president for four years now and libs still won’t shut up about Trump.

I doubt it, he will be slowly forgotten. Is Trump going to run again in 2028? Likely not, if he does he is even less likely to win.

I hope he does and become a meme like the Fujimoris and the Le Pens.

I doubt it, he will be slowly forgotten.

Or, even worse, they will try to rehabilitate him like George Bush.

They will absolutely do this. I give it no more than 12 years.

The good thing about Trump being old is that he'll probably be dead by then, so we don't have to see some nauseating media comeback tour like with Bush.

IDK man. It might give the assassins another run. I'm kinda torn, TBH.

Trump gets neurolinked in to a macacque so every four years til the heat death there's a monkey with terrible hair on the ballot

Fujimoris

oh my god trump dynasty civil war. the dumbest trump son is gonna coup barron and become keiko fujimori.

[-] Des@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

i think if he loses he will still immediately legally declare his intent to run again. just for the political protection it brings

might be futile i dunno but he will still do it

He’s been running every election cycle for decades. It’s just that he managed to finally find success and get into the White House, unlike the majority of presidential candidates that run just to run.

[-] EnsignRedshirt@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

They’re going to have to deal with the pull of Trump derangement syndrome vs the pathological need to rehabilitate every former president. I think the latter is going to win. You can’t set a precedent that it’s acceptable to condemn a former POTUS, where would it end?

Never abandon a winning strategy (note: "winning" means continuing to expand empire and maximizing da capitalist bux, not necessarily holding office.)
