Nice! Good job.
I've quit a couple of times; 1.5 years, 10 months, and a few shorter stints. A few days ago I decided it was time again. 2 days sober now and it's rough, especially with the election results (terrible time to quit LOL).
I'm not sure how long I can make it this time but I'm taking the 24 hour pledge to not drink. Wish me luck.
The longest I went before this was 4 months. I feel like this is for good now.
Even if I had a lapse, which I don't expect, I wouldn't return to habitual drinking.
Progress is non-linear. All those previous times contributed to learning and developing skills and coping without substance! Every day you don't drink is good for you on many levels.
IWNDWYT!
Flipping the narrative: if you can get a solid stint of sobriety now, you'll be in good shape come January and whatever comes after that.
There will never be the perfect time to quit, it's why my sobriety anniversary is a random day in May, I decided "if not now, when?"
Good point. Thanks for giving me at least one positive thing to think about for January 2025.
just worked it out, it's 74 days to inauguration day. 70+ days sober is a really solid base.
@RemindMeBOT@lemmings.world 70 days.
Thanks again.
