The Righteous Gemstones Season 3. It's still a fantastic time that blends a heavier dose of comedy up with some hints of Fargo crime and violence. If you've enjoyed previous seasons, I highly recommend this new one. For those that haven't seen it, it's the same Jody Hill/Danny McBride team known for Eastbound and Down and Vice Principals and brings that same tone while somehow going even further. The entire cast is so good at what they do it's worth it just to see them interact with each other, though the story is also as intriguing as ever.
Captain Fall on Netflix. An animated comedy from the team that made Norsemen. It was a good time killer but didn't reach the same laughs that their live action show would hit. Captain Fall was something of a mix of Archer and The Venture Bros. but rarely ever reached the high standards of either series. Still, there were some scenes that had me laughing out loud and overall it was a good pallet cleanser before watching something else. The voice cast has some big hitters with Jason Ritter (Dipper in Gravity Falls), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Mazikeen in Lucifer), Adam Devine (Workaholics, Pitch Perfect), and Flula Borg. If you want to give your brain a rest with an animated comedy before you start that new sci-fi series or psychological thriller, this might be worth checking out.
I’m not sure if that last episode was intended to the the series finale but if so I’ll call it a success. It was a great last episode.
Edit: I’m case it wasn’t clear I was talking about Righteous Gemstones.
