hmm i see. what's the phone that people usually buy to run a linux distro?

There is currently no "the phone" to buy. They all come with different quirks and down-sides.

The PostmarketOS list of supported devices, or alternatively the Ubuntu Touch supported devices list, but UT is not "normal" Linux.
