Gukesh Dommaraju won the title, becoming the youngest World Chess Champion in history, breaking Garry Kasparov's record. He played extremely well, and it's a very deserved result for him.

I was rooting for Ding Liren, and seeing him play such beautiful chess after being away from the board for almost a year due to depression was especially inspiring. I wish him nothing but the best, and I'll keep following him in future tournaments.

I haven't been following the chess championship, but I recognize from a 30,000fr view that Liren seemed to have been suffering. He hadn't been winning and made some critical blunder missing a queen sacrifice to a mating line. I feel for him and congratulations to Gukesh. It must be weird to step into adulthood already possessing perhaps the highest honor and distinction you can have in the realm in which you dedicate your time.

Exactly how I feel for Liren. Many people, including Magnus and other top players discounted him right out of the gate because of his struggles this year, but he turned around and played some great chess, and I hope he recognizes that, and has the support to work on himself and his mental health.

Gukesh seemed so happy and emotional about winning the title, and doesn't seem to have the ego of other top players. Excited to see where he'll go.
