Yeah I wouldn't call any of these sites underground. If we dont know about them, blame Lemmy users and mods.

I mean, if you ask most people, they wouldn't know what Democracy Now or Pro Public are unlike MSNBC, CNN or New York Times. These news outlets rarely get more coverage or mentions because it is by intention.

Again, if that's the case then we have nobody to blame but ourselves. We're on a link sharing site ffs. We post the links and we make the rules for which sites are allowed.

I do my part to report people who just post screenshots of articles and downvoting links to corporate news sites with pro-corporate narratives, but we all must do our part. And the mods need to do their job too.

I'm talking about in general. Doesn't matter if it's on Lemmy or Reddit, people don't know about the news outlets you and I mentioned.
