MODERATORS
Adaptations from properties that don't already come with good stories rarely turn out well.
Occasionally you get something brilliant like Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Arcane, and MLP: Friendship Is Magic.
Or even arguably Gold Lightan
But figurines, even nicely sculpted figures as a basis for a show... color me skeptical, but we'll have to see how it turns out.
Basing a show around figurines is basically what MLP:FiM was and that turned out pretty good overall. That's not to mention shows of yesteryear like Transformers, G.I. Joe, and He-Man. It just takes a good storyteller that is allowed to tell good stories with the IP instead of constrained by the rights' holders. That being said, I am not holding my breath on this one. Just the fact that this announcement consists of just a single, non-poster visual, no PV, and no cast/staff reveal tells me that they aren't really putting the most effort into this one.
I had never heard of Gold Lightan before, so thanks for that nugget of history.
