One of the coolest parts of The Expanse IMHO was that The Mormons commissioned a giant space ship, and it didn't feel forced or far-fetched.

I read a sci-fi story a few years ago where the Catholic church turned Mercury into the Papal Planet. All the believers lived in austerity while the pope and cardinals lived a life of luxury and hedonism. Totally believable.

Really weird story too. All about the multi verse collapsing into a single point.
