It's described as a farming sim (please take a look at their website if you are curious), but I also wanted to give my opinion and early impressions (I've played for 10h).
- It has a lot of content for an Early Access game, with more to come on the 10th of March!
- Apparently similar to STARDEW VALLEY, except it isn't. Yeah you can fish and mine and meet the people of the town, help them rebuild it after an earthquake, date characters, farm... HOWEVER, it also has ANIMAL CROSSING elements, such as catching bugs.
- Tons of Quality of Life improvements, like being able to shop while the shop owner isn't there, nice combat that isn't just pressing the same button again and again, magic that actually helps the adventurer...
- Ranching.
- Tons of community events that make the town feel truly alive.
- Characters have A TON of unique dialog, comment on things that have happened, your museum donations...
- Some interactions are hilarious.
- Characters have different schedules and clothes depending on the season.
- You can change your character's outfit as often as you want!
- There's no Pierre taking credit of your work. Fuck Pierre :)
- You can buy upgraded tools if you aren't in the mood for forging them.
- FRIDAY NIGHTS AT THE INN!!!!!!!!
The cons:
- Going anywhere without a mount is tiring. Distances feel infinite. I don't have a mount yet :(
- You have to craft all decorations yourself, basically.
- I genuinely have no more complaints, but note that I'm not a demanding gamer at all lol.
Glad I found this community just scrolling through all!
I played Fields of Mistria late last year and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. For being in early access, I only found one bug: the game played at a slower speed after a few minutes until I paused and unpaused it.
Worked flawlessly on the steam deck though. Really excited to see the next update and the finished product someday.
I haven't noticed such bug, and I also play on the Deck! I'm playing less now, waiting for the update hahah
Please feel welcome to participate in the community at any time!
