The initial revolution is just the start of a long process for a country to rebuild itself. Power vacuums will exist and there is always a rush to fill them. Old alliances crumble, and new ones are formed. Rebels will be a thing for a while, especially if they are still getting paid by outside governments.

Peace can happen, but the game of thrones will usually need to play out first.

I remain optimistic about the long term, but I knew this was going to be bad in the short term. When people have been constantly at war under an oppressive government for so long, it takes a while to heal.

You’re right and I agree. My comment was about the group that did the reprisals. Unless I read it wrong.
